I'm just curious if it's possible. I'm buying emerald next weekend (and planning to get some others. I'm way too addicted to 'catching them all' >.>) and I was wondering if it's even possible to back up my GBA roms to a slot 2 flash cart, while retaining the ability to migrate pokemon, and catching the pokemon that show up if you have a gba pokemon in slot 2.

The reason I post this here (besides the fact that my question spans single topic boards), is because I would think that there'd be some sort of utility to patch roms or something like that. Although, my research thus far hasn't turned up anything. The closest google would tell me is transfering between 2 roms, but that's not what I'm concerned about.

If it's not possible, oh well, a simple reply will do (and I'll just have to deal with lugging carts around) .

If you have the official slot-1 cartridges of Diamond/Pearl then the only way to migrate is with the official slot-2 GBA Pokemon cartridges. If you're running Diamond/Pearl off a slot-1 flash cart then there are ways to allow migration from certain slot-2 flash carts such as the 3in1 and possibly the slot-2 Supercards and slot-2 M3 expansion packs, depending on the exact slot-1 device being used.

Thanks for the non-flame response (my first reply on this board was less than kind

) .

That's fine I guess. I have too much data on Diamond to bother with getting a rom and starting over. Oh well.

You could always try dumping the official savegame with this method:
http://www.monroeworld.com/myfaq/index.php...cat=7&id=85

Then converting it with:
http://www.shunyweb.info/
(Input: raw - Output: to what ever your flashcart may be)

After doing so check or the file is exactly: 512 KB (524.288 bytes) On disk.

If not use Multi-Save Converter v0.2 - by Destructobot to pad the file to exactly 512 kb.
(Can be found in the download section)

Thats what I would do ^^
Have many game cards < Have flashcart
