I was a huge Mickey fan, and everything old from Disney, I hate most of their "newer" movies, but old cartoons really kicked ass..I'm sad to hear that Mickey lost his voice [IMG]

RIP. I'm a huge fan of the old Disney stuff, I know it's not Mickey Mouse but Jungle Book is still one of my top 10 films.

That's exactly what I was thinking but I think there should be some kind of "backup" for Micket's voice

I swear I thought this was a joke topic since Disney doesn't make the old classic Disney toons like they use to or put them on Disney Channel. I didn't think...he...would of...wooow.

All jokes aside, I actually can't cry right now because I'm in a happy/eccentric mood. This really hurts since I was a huge Mickey Mouse fan, I still kill for some House of Mouse episodes.

Really sad since Mickey is one of the originals pretty much what's good at Disney because the new stuff is absolute fail by most peoples standards.

Well there must be a ton of people out there that can do perfect Mickey voices. And Wayne Allwine only started doing Mickey in 1977, so there were obviously others before him. So Im expecting that there will be a big search on now for his replacement.

Even Pixar's? They're still damn good.
But it has to be said, Mickey Mouse is past his prime now. RIP to the guy though.

The Pixar movies are great, but CGI is getting pretty old ironically enough. It was meant to drive the future of films, but it's become a rather excessive and lazy crutch for all the movie studios to lean on when they can't create really original special effects. I miss old hand drawn movies and life action films with organic special effects such as stop motion animation and other means. In all honesty, I am far more impressed with movies such as-

    - Snow White
    - Little Mermaid
    - Lion King

    Than I am with-

    - Meet the Robinsons
    - Wall E

This is a purely artistic impression. The Pixar movies have awesome stories and characters. But I'd much rather see them in 2D animation. Personal choice obviously. Despite being a 20-year old guy, I'm looking forward to seeing the Princess and the Frog, the first hand drawn Disney animated movie in years. I don't care if it's girly or whatever. My pride will not get in my way of enjoying a genuinely creative and good movie.

Anyways, a legend has passed. Bless his family for the struggles they are going through. It's interesting to note that Wayne Allwine's wife also did the voice for Minnie Mouse.

The reason many people like those "classics" is because Disney didn't create any of them. Disney had a large hand in helping to destroy the copyright and trademark system worldwide. Ironically, if the laws their special interest bribes bought were in affect when they started, it would have been copyright infringement for them to make many of the films they did.

I know full well where those stories came from and that they are Disney copying from the original stories. As I said, I was impressed by the animation, not the originality. I stated quite clear that my preference was purely based on artistic reasons, not the actual movies or stories. Stolen from another story or not, the animation was Disney's (meaning everyone in the company) own creation and was not stolen from another source.

The Pixar movies seem to be the true original stories. At least, I don't recall them being based on any books (except Bugs Life = the Greedy Grasshopper). I'd like there to be more original Disney stories like Pixar movies except done in traditional hand drawn animation. I'm fed up with CGI and it's overuse and abuse. I'm not the only person who thinks like this either. Almost everyone else is catching on to the boredom too.

What I find weird..is that all the Mickey voices died about 20 or 30 years after they started acting his voice..that's just freaky. o.o

Heres a short, but nice clip of Wayne and the previous voice of Mickey Jimmy Macdonald doing their thing.

He didn't look that young, so I really don't find it odd at all.

Well he was only 62, which is pretty damn young to pass away these days.
