MH4G = Original Monster Hunter 4G
MH4G KOR= MH4G Korean Region Ver.
MH4U = MH4G US Region Ver.

Hello, I am a Korean 3DS user trying to make a JPN DLC items in MH4G KOR.

I've been searching for many ways to import Japanese DLC quests into MH4G KOR.

First clue I found was on reddit.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/31edn3/guide_how_to_download_usj_a_colorful_feast/

but I was too late. Capcom encrypted the data so even if you downloaded them, they won't show up in downloadable contents.

There were few in Korea who got this info before Capcom blocked this method and downloaded the working data. The problem was that they acted as if they were superior to others because they have the power to host JPN DLC Quests. I didn't want to beg them to host quests, so I kept searching.

Second clue I found was here.

http://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunt..._are_people_getting_access_to_the_gx_tempest/

https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/354ui0/gx_tempest/

Since GX Tempest DLC came out after the DLC exploit was blocked, it was clear there was another way of downloading JPN DLC quests.

After that, I did my research and reached here.

I understand that I need an exploited 3DS and 3DS flash card(Gateway, Sky3DS, etc).

The problem is that I do now know the procedure after getting those stuff because I never used a 3DS flash card before.

Would anyone kindly explain what to do?

On the site that should not be mentioned here (ends with ISO) someone posted a thread of his ExtData that he dumped which has every single bit of DLC, including USJ: A Colorful Feast (Star Knight Armor), GX Tempest and USJ: Tigrex 3D (Star Knight Sword)

You can use SDF to extract your ExtData, then replace it with the quest files in that thread. Once that's done, reinject the extdata back into your file and you have all the DLC.

edit: ExtData's are cross compatible with ANY version of MH4G/U, so you wont have a problem with injecting it into your file.

A retail cartridge won't be able to access the DLC since you can't use SDF in Gateway classic mode and Gateway mode wouldn't be able to read cartridges.

Just import the DLCs from the SaveDataFiler from Gateway Mode and then switch to Classic Mode. That's what I did with the legit eShop bought game, and the DLCs work fine in classic mode. The DLCs are exdata that is saved on the EmuNAND's FAT16 partition and not the cartridge, so it would work for cartridge based games as well.
