Hey all,

I'm really struggeling with this. I have a PAL Wii running 3.2E (recently upgraded from 3.0), no homebrew channel but running on Wiikey 1.9s and I get it locking up and reseting the Wii after selecting the file. I've already patched the ISO to 249 and it then refused to load at all and I hard to hard-reset my Wii!

I'm all up for installing the Wii Homebrew channel, but I only have an NTSC backup of Zelda TP, so I can't check which version number it is. What's the easiest way to get this game to work with the English patch applied (the console is also running through an RGB cable as well). Is it worth installing the mod that allows you to modify the region of the console itself on the fly, or is that simply too risky?

Any and all help would be really, really appreciated!

Patching to ISO249 willonly benefit softmodders afaik.

You can install the homebrew chanel via disc (iso) since your hard modded. Then you can run a wadinstaller app and install the latest GekoOS wad, or just run the GeckoOS app from the hombrew channel. The game should work fine from GeckoOS for you since I have a near identical setup to you and it works for me.

edit, you might need the red fix GeckOS version since your using an RGB cable.

Thanks for the reply! I'm burning the .iso of the HBC, but where can I fid the red fix Gecko OS from? I've hunted around google, but i'm obviously searching for the wrong phrase or something

*edit* I've got the HBC channel installed (so thakns for that!), but which version do I need to use from the Gecko site? I've d/l'ed all three, but I can't tell which one has the RGB color problem fixed in it.

*edit 2*
I've got Gecko OS to work, but none of the versions from their site seems to be removing the red screen problem. Anyone know which version will defanitely remove the red?

No loader can "fix" the red color problem! That's just impossible for now. If a game doesn't contain the code for PAL(most newer games), or worse rejects it(Rygar for example) you have to accept that. Get one of the 2 002 fix Gecko OS versions:

The latest version of my toy is able to fix the red color problem for some games, but not all, just search for it. It's for softmods, hardmods and imports.

ChrisRX,

Just wanted to say thank you for the US Text patch. Works like a charm on my Wiikey 1.9G. I just had to patch it for no update, and I was golden.

Thanks again.

So, Chris. Can we count on you for when Metroid Prime 2 comes out? Also, have you considered patching the other Wii De Asobu games that are out?

Oh look, I'm getting demanding now.

I should be extra quick on that as long as it's the same solution because I haven't played Metroid Prime 2. I stopped played Metroid Prime 1 on the gamecube when I heard it was coming out on Wii de asobu.

And what other Wii de asobu games are out that haven't already been released in english?

k then, Mario Tennis and Pikmin hit US soon, so I guess right now there is nothing else.

you could try to find translations for other JAP games, as I understand it, many thought the new Final Fantasy contained english text.
