Metroid Prime Trigoly just rerelease yesterday on US/EUR, and it's on sale to a ridiculous low price, $10

It's On Sale for one week 1/29 - 2/5, it will be at $20 after that

You can't miss this masterpiece, I mean 3 masterpieces!

It's the same MPT for Wii, Wiimote-nunchuk as only input method, comes with original e-manual (accessible before boot the game)

It's a great price but I'm still going to skip because if I were to own it it'd have to be the physical release, I'll be patient and look out for a decent price.

Anyone who played know how the game looks, if it's any different from the retail game?

All Wii VC games are straight ports from their Wii counterparts, so no visual improvements whatsoever BUT games such as Punch Out (which support Wii Classic Controller) are now playable with the Wii U GamePad (they figured out how to make a cIOS).

Should have imagined that.
I have a lot of problems with Nintendo, they still live in the 90s:
  • Region Lock
  • Limited Demo Usage
  • No Account System
  • Uderpowerer Hardware
  • Terrible OS and general software
  • Huge confusion on their peripherals(Why can't I play a Wii title with WiiU Pro Controller? Because they're lazy enough to implement it)
  • Terrible Filters on VC titles
  • Lack of the most basic stuff in VC titles (like button re-map)
There are many terrible things they do, and they do because the want that way and fuck what the consumer wants,
when they start changing that I'll think about buying a WiiU, so far I'll be happy playing on my PS4

As far as visuals or audio go, I doubt there's much of/any difference, but I plan on recording the footage of the disc on the wii over component, disc on Vwii, and digital on Wii U just for the heck of it. So glad metroid is getting a bit of love.

I was waiting for it and grabbed it as soon as I got home.
To say truth I already had it trough other means on vWii, but I want to support the Metroid franchise to encourage Nintendo to make the next game on Wii U. that and I had $20 nintendollars sitting there.

If vwii digital is gonna be faster, then I'll use the digital version for speedruns.

I have a lot of problems with Nintendo, they still live in the 90s:
You're spot on here! Nintendo is very slow to adapt, they don't even support generic USB controllers, forcing manufacturers to make 3rd party controllers connecting to the Wiimote. It's why arcade games, especially shmups and fighters, will never be good on Nintendo platforms, which is a shame considering many of them got their start on the NES and SNES...
when they start changing that I'll think about buying a WiiU, so far I'll be happy playing on my PS4
I have both and while I like Wii U games more (for now, just wait for the PS4 exclusives), I generally enjoy using the PS4 more because it doesn't feel archaic.

I have a lot of problems with Nintendo, they still live in the 90s:
  • Region Lock - agree. region locking is bullshit.
  • Limited Demo Usage - is bullshit but doesn't matter, if you like the game you buy it instead of play the demo eternally.
  • No Account System - Wii U has an account system. if you are trying to point out that the purchases are tied to the console instead of the Nintendo ID instead, agree.
  • Uderpowerer Hardware - half relevant. NES, PSone and PS2 where the weaker systems in his respective generations and sold like cure to cancer, but still, weren't that weak in comparison with the competition.
  • Terrible OS and general software - the OS do what needs to do, what more do you want?
  • Huge confusion on their peripherals(Why can't I play a Wii title with WiiU Pro Controller? Because they're lazy enough to implement it) - half agree, there are games that you couldn't control properly without motion controls that all the other options lack, how do you plan to point and jump at the same time in Mario Galaxy??. but some other games could use a more traditional control scheme without problem like New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  • Terrible Filters on VC titles - half agree. I only have SNES and GBA VC titles, SNES has no filtering options(even though I think is not needed) and the GBA scale 2X thing is terrible. but isn't really a problem, Sony offers the basic bilinear filtering that sometimes looks like shit, some others don't.
  • Lack of the most basic stuff in VC titles (like button re-map) - you can remap the buttons and even use a Wiimote on some SNES games that required classic controller on Wii, and you can create a savestate. you can't remap controls of PSClassics on PS3 and savestates are nonexistent, same with Xbox originals on Xbox 360. PS4/Xbone don't have any form of classics.
There are many terrible things they do, and they do because the want that way and fuck what the consumer wants,

when they start changing that I'll think about buying a WiiU, so far I'll be happy playing on my PS4

the only 2 real problem I see there is the region lock and digital content claim, the other are minor problems that aren't a big deal. don't be a drama queen.
but still Nintendo should step it up and iron them out as are rather serious.
