Hacking Metroid Prime 3 "unplug trick" did not work for me

ok i just tried to use the unplug trick to play Metroid Prime 3. I did the 10-15% but when I turned my Wii again, it still asks for an update. I did it again but still its not working. my count was 14 seconds for the first one and the second one was a bit faster because the bar moved a little faster. no dual channels and settings still work btw.

I just borrowed the game from a friend who plays it normally on his US Wii. thanks for the help!

You just need other copy of the game with brick blocker enabled afaik.

Update

The game Zelda's shooting range (in combination with the Wii Zapper) can debrick some of those half bricked Wii's... so it might also remove the extra channels...

There is no need to do that update trick. Just run the game from your own region and let the full update complete.

There is no Japanese release of MP3, and he has a Japanese Wii.

ah, didn't know that. Then you'll indeed have to perform a partial update. Be careful with it though.
