I'm starting to get conflicting reports that the following work/don't work. Can someone confirm? Latest USB Loader:

1) Metroid Prime new controls
2) SSX Blur
3) Red Steel

seems like they work on the backup launcher -

"YES, patch to IOS 249 with Waninkoko's IOSPatcher ......"

Does metroid new play work too?

I'll need to figure out how to do this....

EDIT - is metroid only japanese? damn - I hope it has a lot of english! or atleast an english option!

Yes, Metroid only works on the backup launcher, but to play it you need to patch the iso before burning to IOS249. To play it in english you also need to apply the iso an other patch.

This is the patch for english: http://fenopy.com/torrent/_Wii__Metroid_Pr...NA==/index.html

This is the software that applies that patch:
http://files.filefront.com/PPFoMatic+Ver+3...;/fileinfo.html

And look for a software called IOSPatcher to patch the iso to IOS249.

Hope this helps!

thanks for the links. I have the IOS patcher but do i need "iso249" as well or does the patcher do it auto?

also - I'm going to try and find a rapidshare/megaupload for the english patch. I don't do torrents

Waninkoko's IOS Version patcher makes the Wii believe the selected IOS(IOS249) is the correct IOS for the game, that's how and why it works for disc based backup launching. These games load their IOS themselves, if you patched this information to IOS249 the games load that and you are fine. It's not working for the usb loaders, because usb storage is shutdown when the IOS is loaded. Waninkoko might fix this somehow somewhen, but for now these games won't work.

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market

and nvidia is already doing ARM

i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image

but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
