"Mega Man World 4" is getting a full colorization romhack by Marc Robledo

Colourization projects for monochrome Game Boy titles have seen a substantial growth over the years, and today, another original Game Boy game joins the ranks of those with a full colourization project for the fanbase to enjoy.

Renowned romhacker Marc Robledo, in collaboration with Kensu William, who have both previously worked on other romhacking colourization projects, like Mega Man World 3 DX, released a new trailer for their upcoming colourization project for the last remaining title from the original Game Boy lineup to be colourized, Mega Man World 4.

The features that this DX colourization will have are the following:
  • Full color conversion
  • Slowdowns removed
  • NES styled pause screen
  • Works in real GBC hardware and emulators
Marc and Kensu also worked on colourizing Mega Man World 5 DX, and while the other 2 Mega Man World titles were not done by him, those two also have a colourization/DX romhack available, made by SpecialAgentApe as Mega Man World GBC and Mega Man World 2 GBC.
With Marc's release of Mega Man World 4 DX, all five Mega Man titles for the original Game Boy would now have DX versions for each one of them, which would now make the Mega Man Mania project a close reality, with plans made down the road to make all 5 Mega Man World DX titles available in one GBA cartridge, as it was originally intended decades ago.

The romhack will be available on December 17th, 2024.

Isn't it crazy? In the 7th gen, Konami left us with nothing but Pachinko and Metal Gear Survive jokes while all their franchises collected dust. All of a sudden, we're getting compilations and remakes. They're not even trying to dance around it, going for remakes of Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 right off the bat.

I'd like to see what a remake of the original Silent Hill would look like, let me tell you.
Thank Kojima for that. He almost made them bankrupt.
Konami did what it had to do to make money, and had to turn to its best bet that was Pachinko slots.
Hope they make good on their Suikoden remaster. And bring us some new games a few years ahead.
They are more than capable.

I've never done the research, but I'm guessing the FOX Engine was the culprit. Konami needed another hit, and Metal Gear Solid (Metal Gear Solid 4, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and Metal Gear Rising) was probably paying the bills.

If true, then Kojima could have asked for anything and gotten it, but a 7th gen game engine from scratch is a huge ask. Really, Konami's higher-up's should have been keeping an eye on the finances.

To be honest, Konami wasn't doing well during the 7th gen. It seemed like they just couldn't make a hit that wasn't MGS. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 got poor reviews, Zone of the Enders HD Collection had a botched launch, the Silent Hill HD Collection became infamous, and the attempts at continuing Silent Hill with new developers didn't work out.

Me too, as Shattered Memories was NOT it. It was boring, repetitive gameplay most of the time, and didn't feel like a real Silent Hill game. The best parts were the twist ending, and on the Wii using the Wiimote as a flashlight and to take creepy phone calls. That at least made it a bit more immersive, but it still wasn't a very good game overall.

We need a REAL Silent Hill 1 remake. Even better would be hiring the original devs that made the first game to do it, but that's wishful thinking.

Yeah, I'm sure they were just hemorrhaging money from the success of MGS 5. :rofl2:

Wait, now I'm a little confused.
SpecialAgentApe did 1 & 2, Marc and Kensu did 5 & 4. So there's still 3 to be done, right?

It's linked in the 2nd paragraph :P

Coax wire today is much better (RG6) than old school coax (RG58/59). Newer wire more expensive than the older wire.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You can buy it at any length @homedepot wire cutting area cheaper than buying preformed cable, but you have to put on your own ends/ connectors.

I still like DTV but the wire wasn't long enough to reach the window still pick up 40 channels

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is 1 Hispanic channel I kept, sometimes they have soap operas on it, w scandalous clothed hotties, I just beat mute it.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Ah yes the Juan channel order 15 pairs of feet

I got this antenna but the damn thing has usb power right next to the coax plug and you can't actually extend it without usb extension the Pic makes the cable look longer than it actually is https://a.co/d/501IQf2
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Use a old phone/ USB charger block thing, plug into wall instead of tv usb. Use cheap extension cord if need.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
You still need usb extension because coax end cord is the same length
