So now, i'm pleased as punch (oh yea, i used THAT saying, thats how badass this is heh) that MM classic is FINALLY continuing, but now my question.... will we see a MegaMan 10? Or is that technically where MegaMan X comes in? (i know... X is used in the 20X6 sense, but they COULD use it as 10).

As well, Thanks Hadrian for the heads up! Hadn't read this anywhere else [IMG]

I would love for this to be on a DS seeing as you could never have enough platformers.
I hope it'll like the old series, which were great.

Wow, didn't see this coming! I always considered Megaman and Bass the (un)official Megaman 9. I doubt this game will be on a download service when Capcom can milk it for full game price. DS would be nice, but it doesn't matter much to me.

I think Megaman 9 would be something too big for PSN/XBL/Wiiware..

I liked the movies on Megaman 8.. would be cool to see something like that

The classic and X series are up there as some of my favorite Video Game series of all time. And now there's finally going to be a real 9th game...

...please don't **** this up, Capcom. This is your chance to redeem yourself for the trash Mega Man titles you've been releasing lately.

They could do it easily. Mega Man 8 wasen't that large file size wise if you took those cutscenes out. And recently they did increase the max size cap for Xbox Live Arcade, so who knows.

Let's hope they'll not screw up this one... They need to put the Megaman series in good light again, after the latest games... They were not bad, but still they weren't top class like the old Megaman games.

Maybe this game will finally explains what happens between Megaman Classic and the X series [IMG]

    Megaman zero was fine....
Those damn battle network shitz RUINED EVERYTHING.
The ONLY battle network/EXE game that I liked was 3, since it had MASSIVE amounts of extras.

So! Looks like some people were right about it being Megaman 9. I have to say though, I hope it goes well since Megaman has had one of the rockiest (pardon the pun) histories in gaming history, and not even Sonic has been milked so heavily. They said that there's going to be two surprises at E3 or whatever, is it too much to ask that the second game is Megaman Legends 3? =P

The only thing I have to ask is please, for the love of God, make Megaman sound like a boy! Give him the Powered Up voice actor, he was actually good.

Battle Network was a good series for the most part.

Battle Network was one of the more popular Mega Man series. (So I've read from numerous but I agree though this is probably cause it was my first Mega Man series I've ever played.) I never really have played the originals except for Maverick Hunter X and Powered Up! for PSP. But hopefully it comes to PSP/NDS/Wii..

When I say "big", I'm not referring just to the size of game.. but to the importance of it.. Megaman is Capcom's biggest franchise, a new sequel after that many years should have the same kind of treatment that SFIV is having..
I'm not saying that XBL games are bad.. but, IMO, a new Megaman deserves to be at least a retail title

Megaman 9 probably won't be the only thing, I bet they are gonna release Megaman X9 too.

An apparent play tester of the game has wrote this & shown a blurry screen:

    "Dear Rockman Perfect Memories,

I'm a beta tester for Capcom, and it's been a lot of fun reading all these posts about Rockman 9!

I'm one of the people who gets to test it! [IMG]

Ever since I started playing it, I've wanted to take pictures and post them online, but they check you for cameras every time before you go into the room to play. Well I thought I'd try something tricky after a few months of beta testing, so I borrowed my girl friend's phone. The guys there trust me enough not to pat me down anymore and they'll let me hand them my phone. So, I took a quick picture of the screen with my girl friend's phone! Sorry it's so blurry and dark, but she's got a really old phone.

I want to just send it to you guys because I don't want it to get too much attention (Which is why I'm not sending it to Kotaku, or 1-Up.). But I'll confirm a few things about the game:

    - You can play as Blues.
    - The graphics are in the 8-bit sprite style, but not the classic Famicom/NES one.
    - It doesn't have anything to do with the X series.
    - Tango is in it, and works just like the Rockman World Game Boy version.
    - The game doesn't support full wide screen YET, but it will.
    - It does support 480p.

Also, PLEASE don't reveal my alias, e-mail name, or e-mail address! I don't want anyone to know I'm the one who sent this in!"

Seeing the game hasn't been officially announced and most probably a long way off from even a Japanese release would play testers be required at an early stage? That if it is at an early stage.
