North America and Japan were treated to the announcement of not only a physical Nintendo Switch release for the upcoming Mega Man 11, but also a matching amiibo to go along with it. However, not much was heard on the European front, leaving fans wondering. Capcom EU has finally put questions to rest, by letting Europeans know that they definitively will not be getting a physical release of Mega Man 11 on the Switch, meaning the region will have to buy it digitally, and they additionally have "nothing to announce at this time" regarding the amiibo. Plans for physical releases on other platforms were not disclosed either. Mega Man 11 will be launching on October 2 of this year.

Will have to import it then. At least they don’t use ass-ugly artwork for the north american release this time.

Regional exclusivity for physical releases makes no damn sense to me.

I would have had Re HD Remaster already on 360, but Capcom decided to only physically release it in Japan. When you realize that they did release it for Japan, that really upset me. I'd be one salty bastard if I lived in EU and found this news out.

What's the rationale here? Is it costs? Some regulatory snafus? What is it?

To be honest, this didn't seem like a game getting a physical release anywhere. Looks like a $20 or less game. What kind of content could it have making it worth putting on disc or switch cart and selling for $40 :wtf:

My only experience of buying an imported Switch game so far was getting the US physical release of Ittle Dew 2+ from a UK seller (quick delivery) for roughly the same price as the game cost on the eshop anyway, so it really wasn't any kind of inconvenience.

That's ok. I am getting PS4 version of EUR and JAPAN because they are having two discs. I am so disappointment in Nintendo Switch with one physical game and one digital game. Bad idea. Bad move, Capcom. I am getting PS4 version instead.

Can we trade Mega Man 11 for affordable healthcare?

We didn't get a full physical release in the states, either. only half of a physical release. I'm still salty.

You mean for the Legacy Collection? Yeah, they screwed up for that. I won't be shocked when they do the same for Mega Man X.

I canceled my pre-order because I expect it now XD I'll just get it digitally after it goes on sale.

That basically means that I won't be getting Megaman 11, no big deal.

And nothing of value was lost, yeah, granted it looks better than Mighty No. 2 (er, 9), but still.

Well, at least Switches are region free. This also tells me that Capcom really doesn't have a lot of faith in Mega Man selling.

Unless I can put it on my shelf, I'm just not interested. I only buy games digitally when I don't particularly care about them or when I need to run them on multiple systems at the same time. Since neither case applies, I'm just going to ignore this release.

It's already confirmed in Best Buy's product listing. I for one can't support this bullshit. It kind of makes me not want to buy MMX Collection on any platform.
