Just thought I would share since I couldn't seem to get a clear answer from anyone. 59 with .nsp or 55 before .nsp for devmenu, and it seems the sky is the limit for tinfoil, which probably means same for tx os since they used tinfoils source for their NSP installer.
I was trying to figure out a good way to rename files to specific length and found the following -
https://www.rename-expert.com/examples/shorten_long_file_names.aspx
This is great as it will batch rename to specific file-lengths. Its bad because I couldn't find any logic that would allow me to script finer details. Optimally, I would prefer to cut out titleid first, but leave in update revision.
Examples -
Original
ACA NEOGEO GAROU MARK OF THE WOLVES [0100cb2001db8][v0].nsp
What works on devmenu -
ACA NEOGEO GAROU MARK OF THE WOLVES [0100cb2001db8000][.nsp
What I would prefer -
ACA NEOGEO GAROU MARK OF THE WOLVES [0100cb2001db8][v0].nsp
Priority should be first the first starting 20 ish characters of the time, second priority is keeping v0 / v65555 or whatever the update revision is. If removing titleid is not enough, then start at where the first bracket of titleid would have been and work backwards towards the start of the filename removing characters until you've gotten beneath the 59 character threshhold.
Thoughts? And anyone good with batch that can think of a logical way to do the above?
