so,i was wondering, what the maximum download speed on the New 3DS?
i tried downloading from different DSL,2 and 10 and 40mb.

2mb around 180kb
10mb around 800-900kb ( 400 on the O3DS)
40mb around 900kb

those speed taken from free shop app.

this is really strange, the N3DS wireless adapter that bad?

also tried using microSD management to transfer a file, max speed was like 400kb.

not sure if it helps but try overclocking with hans, ntr, or luma. I do it just in case and i get 1mb per second when transferring a big cia file

it also depends on your internet provider, how far you are from the wifi router, and what kind of router you use.

Don't you have experience that copying files become slower when the cpu of your pc overload?

i tried downloading from 16 mb cia file and full game using free shop.
I got 1.3MB/s on n3ds, this should be the Max limit of n3ds.remember, you are downloading from.nintendo cdn,the speed depends on where the cdn is as well.

I average around 750KB/s on 10mbps.

No clue why, can see speeds vary here, perhaps the 3DS throttles speed, though somebody would've found a way around that by now if it did.

I've managed around 1.5MiB/s (12Mibps) using freeShop before on a good day right next to the router. (N3DS)
This seems to be the upper limit of the 3DS's networking chip in my experience; although the FCC docs for the IC say that it supports 802.11g, speeds are around the theoretical maximum of 802.11b.

1 Megabyte (MB) = (1000)^2 bytes = 1000000 bytes.
1 Mebibyte (MiB) = (1024)^2 bytes = 1048576 bytes.
1 Megabit (Mb) = (10)^6 bits = 1000000 bits = 125000 bytes.
1 Mebibit (Mib) = (2)^20 bits = 1048576 bits = 131072 bytes = 1 block on Nintendo consoles.

1.6-1.7 MB/s n3ds freeshop. Changing wifi channel to below 11 did the trick for me, had terrible speed at first.

Can confirm the bad speeds in case this is still relevant. I have Gigabit at home, have a Router that can output Gigabit on 5GHz and around 300MBp/s on 2.4GHz, i still reach no higher than at Maximum 2MBp/s on freeShop. However, for some odd reason, i did reach about 15MBp/s on an older version of freeShop (a little while ago), no idea why though.
