I found a little fact sheet in GoNintendo listing some of the features of the upcoming Wiimake, Mario Power Tennis.

"- perform backhand and forehand shots
    - direct ball on corners of court
    - top spin and slice based on motion controls
    - Buttons for special moves
    - no Cube controller support"

They're forcing the stupid waggle controls onto us. :\

    Here's an article:

"We didn't really need help to figure out that Play on Wii Mario Tennis GC (or Mario Power Tennis, as Camelot's mascot tennis game is known over here) would use Wiimote motion controls, since that is, like one hundred percent of the point of the Play on Wii series (and Wii tennis games, for that matter). But we welcome solid information anyway, which Japanese online retailer Neowing has provided.

According to the product description, Mario Tennis GC enables players to wave the Wii Remote to execute forehand and backhand shots and direct the ball toward the left or right side of the court. Motion will also determine the addition of topspin and slice spin. Buttons are still used to deploy each character's unique special moves.

If the (possible) second coming of Wii Sports tennis doesn't excite you, hang on to your GameCube version: Play on Wii Mario Tennis GC does not support GameCube controllers."

Well.. if you want to play with game cube controls.. buy the Game Cube version! It works the same way.. ¬¬

Since I played Wii Sports I'm waiting for a Mario Tennis with those controls, while I'm still hoping for a totally new game.. this will do for some time [IMG]

At least in Japan they'll be cheaper than newer games.. 1,000 yen cheaper I think. So, probably 10 bucks less than a new game on West.

Can they remove the stupid power shots? Makes the game far to easy.

Well with all these "play it on Wii" at least they're not claiming that they're new games like Activision did with Pitfall.

What's this? Nintendo encouraging sales of the old version?

The one title they wouldn't profit from?

I hope they put the option to disable them in it, I think Mario Tennis GBA has that.
That really makes things more fair.
I just hope it's like Wii Sports but with a little bit better registration of my moves.

Behind you! I know you looked!
    ...Then I'm normal?
Seriously, why would i be looking forward to the second version of Wii Sports Tennis.
Anyway, I'll probably use the backup loader for these GC Wiimakes. I don't deem them worthy of a full retail purchase.
