Hacking mario strikers on wii jp help

hi' i know it's old but i just put a mario strikers into my japan wii. not sure is pal or us, but it ask me to update but i have v3.1j. need advice.

You should be fine - you're on the latest firmware already.

The absolutely worst thing that could happen is that you might get duplicate channels.

I did it to mine
I just got duplicate channels and it worked fine

...
OH IT ALSO BLOCKED MY SETTINGS MENU WHICH IS STILL UNFIXABLE...

So your semi-bricked but still fine? BTW what version were you on when you updated with the game?

I'm thinking of doing the cancelation update half way trick. But dunno what effects it'll bring in the future.
