So I've picked up my Wii again after it being stowed away for several years.
Figured I would play some Mario Kart, but i ran into some problems.
At first it would just give me a black screen when trying to run it from USB Loader GX. So I read some threads here, and figured I needed to update my softmod. Downloaded latest Homebrew Channel and Usb Loader GX, and I installed the d2x-cios.

Now instead of a black screen, it returns to Homebrew channel.
I should mention that I get Super Mario Galaxy 2 to work.

Here's my Syscheck:

your installation is good.
be sure the loader is correctly set to use slot249 :

Settings > Loader settings > game's IOS : 249
(or reset the settings, everything is correctly setup by default : settings > reset settings)

If it reset to hbc it's either :
- cIOS issue (but you installed them, so it shouldn't be that)
- HDD issue (hdd not compatible, not enough power)
- ISO is bad (if you can't see the animated banner either in USBLoaderGX then it's even more this case)

I think the most probable issue is : bad iso.
Try redumping it.
use a FAT32 partition and Wii Backup Manager to copy ISO to HDD, or insert the Mario Kart Disc inside USBLoaderGX and select install.

Ok, great! Then I know there's nothing wrong with the softmod of my Wii at least.
Thank You!
