Although Mario Kart Tour was supposed to already be released by now, before it received a delay to "summer 2019", you won't have to wait long to play it. That is, if you're lucky enough to be chosen for the closed beta and use an Android device. Nintendo will be hosting a "limited closed beta" for Mario Kart Tour, which will allow Japanese and North American players to help bug-test the game prior to launch. If you're interested, you have until May 7th to register on the official website and have a chance at being randomly selected to take part. The beta itself will take place from May 22nd to June 4th. Requirements to play involve having a device that is running Android 4.4 or later, has at least 1.5GB of RAM, and must be a phone, not a tablet.

What’s even weirder is the fact that it’s Android only while 90% of Japanese has iPhones

I can't even apply anyway. Because now they're picking on my email for not being GMail.

Sadly wont be useful for you still, since if you don't have a way to get into the US and Japan playstore you wont be able to download the app, and those are really annoying to set up

    Somewhere, over there!
Why would we want a mobile mario kart when we already have a full fledged game?

Probably because there are only a limited number of ios based models and they can test those themselves, whereas there are potentially hundreds and hundreds of android-based models which need to be tested?

If your Google account and Nintendo accent are not associated with an @gmail.com email you won’t be allowed to sign up sadly.

Both my accounts are associated with an email @mydomain.com, which is not acceptable it seems.

I guess given Nintendo's track record with online services I shouldn't be surprised about some random limitation like this. I’ll just wait until its released.

No iOS? I guess Nintendo is finally showing love the the Android side after making Super Mario Run an iOS exclusive for months. Anyone know how to run Android on an iPhone?

Running betas on iOS is also a much bigger PITA. You can't officially launch a beta in the store and its not like most people can just install IPAs the way they do APKs.

I hope it’s a paid game with no IAP’s or loot boxes/crates and it better have controller support
