    Wii: US. NTSC 3.2U
    Mod: Wiikey 1.9G
Disc: Mario Kart (PAL) patched with WiiUR (update remover) + RegionFrii (to US NTSC)
TV: Sharp LCD D64U model (supports 60Hz and 480P)
    ------
When playing in 480P during a race the screen turns black for 1 second randomly throughout the game which makes it very annoying.
    Only happens in Mario Kart.

I tried cooling the GPU by opening up the wii and putting a desk fan on it but doesn't work.
480i works fine but the frame rate drops really badly that I would rather not play.

Try with Datel Freeloader, some people hade the same problem with Brawl and it seems that somehow the Freeloader made it work for them.

Else the Mario Kart Wii NTSC is just 2 weeks away if you want to wait for it instead.

    Thanks for the reply.

From what I'm told it could be RegionFrii. Apparently it does not properly patch the video mode. So doesn't this mean it wouldn't work with ALL PAL-NTSC conversions then?

I suggested you use WiiFrii from the site I linked to. That patches the video mode from PAL to NTSC and may fix your problem.

Ya I googled it and didn't come up with any proper hits.

So I went on newsgroups and found it packaged with wiiscrubber. So this key.bin, it can be used for all releases of any game then?

    Update:

Looks like I spoke too soon. @ 480P I still get flicker and blackouts but at least I can play in 480i without the massive drop in frame rates now.
