I did search and could find anything.

Just thought i would like people know that i have figured a way, to get your Mario Kart save game which you backed up with savegame extractor to work with downloading the latest data. I decided to do this to help the people who have formatted their Wii and used SaveGame Extractor to back up their Mario Kart Save because i read on the internet that when people go to download the latest data for Mario Kart Channel, they get the message 'Theres a Problem with the Wii System Memory, Wii Connect24 cannot be used'. First make sure you've backed up your save with SaveGame extractor. Which will put the save on your SD card in ?:\WIISAVES\RMCP. ?: = your drive letter, RMCP is the folder for Mario Kart.

1: First make sure you delete the Mario Kart save in the Data Management screen on your wii, if you have one.

2: Load up Mario Kart and it will say Saving blah blah blah, then it will show you the licenses which should all be empty.

3: Create a new license. (i used my mii which i used for my backup save, so i dont know if you can choose any) Edit: You can use any mii you want. Thanks to Hardcore Gamer.

4: When you've created it, it will take to the screen with 1 player, Nintendo WFC etc. Just press home on your remote and go back to the wii menu.

5: Now load up savegame installer using your method of choice (TP Hack, Homebrew Channel etc,) and make sure your savegame you backed up with savegame extractor is in the root of your SD card like this. ?:\WIISAVES\RMCP. ?: = your drive letter, RMCP is the folder for Mario Kart, with these files in it: BANNER.BIN, FILELIST.DAT, RKSYS.DAT, WC24DL.VFF, WC24SCR.VFF

6 When SaveGame installer loads up, make sure the Mario Kart disc is in the drive, and then press RESET, and it will install the save over the new one you just created. When it done installing press the POWER button to return to the Wii System Menu/Health and Safety Warning Screen.

Now when you go into the Mario Kart Channel to get the latest data it should do it.

Hope this helps some people. BTW i only did this to help people out with their original data, not people cheating, by wanting to download someone elses so they can get 100%, which i think really takes the fun out of the game.

I hope your can understand it, if not get in touch with me and i will try my best to help you.

I would be delighted if i could get some feedback from people to see if it works for others.

Youtube Video showing me doing it. Mario Kart Wii Save Game

I know the quality is crap, i will upload another one when i get a capture card.

how about not using the save installer. One sec let me get the site, but all you do is copy, paste, and be quiet.
Nuff said.No need of save installer or questions. It's pretty obvious were to copy and paste it.

That doesn't work cause you can't use the data management screen to copy Mario Kart save cause its Wi-Fi Enabled. And that link is for Super Smash Bros. which you cant copy either.

Those saves are power saves by Datel. They are decrypted to be easily installed like a Strikers Charged! save. (from the wii save game manager) But those saves have nothing to do with your post really, you are correct a bug in the save, not cheating [IMG]

So you're saying you will get an error when reinstalling the MK:W game save? Hmm, if thats the case, I plan to format my wii soon. I guess this will be useful for me in the future.

Yeah but you have to use the SaveGame Extractor/Installer to back it up and to install it again.

I've posted this problem a couple of times, I think I posted in the big thread talking about the save game extractor. Online still works, I could also still download the top 10 times for any track but I couldn't download the channel update or play the competition. It's permanently stuck on competition number one.

I'm going to test it, I'll report back.

edit: Yes, it works. I just used a guest mii, wrote over the save game using the save game game installer and bingo!, channel update has downloaded with no errors.

You may only be a newbie here but you've done well in your short stay. Many thanks.

Yeah, the Wii doesn't let you overwrite a save so I didn't think that Waninkoko's app would ignore that, good spot. I did notice that the save game was 24 blocks on the sd card but only 23 when copied over but that might be just something else.

There doesn't seem to be a comp at the moment, I missed the last two. I hear comp 4 is Mushroom Gorge backwards, sounds fun but they must have to modify the track as it would seem impossible.
