I'm downloading to see if it's worth buying first. I'm not a huge fan of MK, but I may consider on buying this one. I'd only buy it after I get a DS and a PSP first though.. So it might be a while before I even get either. I'm just waiting for NTSC-U version to come out at the moment.

I can't download it as i have no mod chip. But if i did then i would still buy it as everyone has had problems with it.

it makes me laugh, there is about 15 topics each day about having problems with Mario Kart - same goes for SSBB.

I pirated it but will buy it when it doesn't come with the useless wheel and is cheaper (say, £20). I'm not really willing to pay £40+ for a game with outdated graphics and a crappy plastic wheel no matter how fun it is.

I've had no problems with either, you're exaggerating.

Are there any disadvantages to playing the wheel? I heard you have to press certain buttons on the wiimote for tricks? But if the wiimote is all the way in the middle of the wheel, how does that work?

I'm probably going to buy 2 wheels as well. My girl would love playing with a wheel.

Well I don't have a modded wii so I went to buy it today as it just came out.

Once again Nintendo has delivered on a classic franchise, this game reminds of me of how much fun I had sitting at my SNES when I was 13. It's great.

To the person saying that they are off to plat MK 64, I really have no idea where you are coming from. In my humble opinion the 64 iteration was truly the nadir of the series and clear evidence of Nintendo losing its way. For me that continued right through the GameCube days and only now is it clawing back its reputation.

Download it, you will have the game completed in a couple of hours and will be bored of online play within a week. And if I'm wrong, then go out and buy it.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
