Hacking [Mario Kart 8] How To Modify Lap Counter For Tracks?

Hello! I've finally got a dump of Mario Kart 8, and I've wanted to modify the number of laps on courses/tracks to make them longer then 3 laps (Expect Baby Park obviously). Can someone please help me find a program that allows me to do this? I know it's possible, I've seen other modders do it.

convert the course_muunt.byaml (course_muunt_200 if 200cc) file to xml using yamlconv, then edit the xml using notepad++ or any other text editor, search for "LapNumber", change that to whatever number (1 to 7), convert back to byaml, then replace
