Being it's Mario kart 8, they should release it on the Wii U... Don't you think?

The WiiU is done. Zelda:BotW will be the final WiiU game published by Nintendo.

Yes along with Splatoon 2 as there is nothing new it can't handle. But this is Nintendo and they will not.

If sales had been positive and if it had succeeded then MK8 and Splatoon 2 would be on the WiiU as well but both of these titles will remain on Switch. Plus, newcomers wouldn't buy a WiiU now anyway with the NS being released in 30 days' time.

P.S. Indie developers who originally planned to publish their games on the WiiU eShop have also cancelled their titles and moved to the Switch or hope to.
