When i exit SM64 using the - button to return to main title menu my Switch locks up completely.
The screen goes black and i have to force a reboot and inject the payload again.

*Edit*
The Day One patch (V1.0.1) does not fix the Softlock issue.

*Edit 2 Fix*
SX OS users can install the latest beta FW which fixes the issue.
Atmosphere users can update to version 0.14.4 and add the latest sig patches for a fix.

The crash only happens on SM64 the other games return to menu just fine.
I was wondering if this was a issue for everyone or just me.
Ive not updated my CFW or OFW in a little while which may be the issue ?
Loads of people are having this issue it seems, it's not just you. Seems to work fine on SXOS, but other CFW's it seems to crash, according to reports.

since there is a new Switch firmware release just in time for the release of 3DAS, it's very much possible that the firmware update corrects the issue?
I wonder if on regular, non-updated Switch consoles, the same error occurs, or maybe it forces the installation of the latest firmware?

There are no reports as far as I can find that people with legit copy's have these problems.

For me on SX OS SM64 loaded fine the first time, I then closed the game (from the home menu), but after that, the game crashes whenever I try to start SM64 again.

Maybe something with the savegames?

yes, on AMS 0.14.2 / 10.1.0 it only happens with SM64. SMS and SMG are fine. Could be an AMS 0.14.2 bug, I'll test 0.14.3 with 10.2.0 later.

Update: Tested on AMS 0.14.3 / 10.2.0 and now SM64 softlocks the system when trying to return to titles screen AND when trying to close the software using the home menu. SMS and SMG are still fine.

I decided to boot SM64 again then tried pressing the home button to close the software. This created another crash on the home screen.

I didn't even manage to launch either one of the games. As soon as I launch one of the three games from the title screen, the game crashes back to the Switch menu. Then I'm forced to run a filecheck. FW 10.1.0 SX OS 3.0.4 beta.

SM 64 not full screen
SMS 30fps locked with low resolution and unstable framerate
SMG the best one with 60fps

Nintendo is combating piracy with new conditions for games. But if Sunshine and Galaxy works why even worry about it just use the M64 port (which is better anyway)

I'm not even going to waste my time getting this #1 it isn't stable per reports #2 my emulators can give me better performance #3 if I really want to play it "portable" I can use my Galaxy S10 SM64+Sunshine will work great the only game I may have issues with is Galaxy because of the motion controls

Thanks but no thanks I'll pass on this game

SXOS 3.0.4 BETA
FW 10.1.0
Installed with Tinfoil 8.10
No SM64 Crash Issue.

Okay update...
Now SM64 won't load at all.

My first boot of the game, ran all 3 titles in this order:
SMG
SMS
SM64.

All three booted up fine, and exited fine.
Now, SM64 does not want to run.. I'm gonna see If running them again in this order does anything.

UPDATE:
Yeah, that's a nope. Gonna reboot the system and see if that works.

Humm.. I ran a Verify with NSCBuilder on the .nsp floating around and got this output; I really dunno what this means but usually i get NSP Safe as verdict, meaning I won't touch this copy yet.

Okay so here's my final report.
SXOS 3.0.4 BETA
FW 10.1.0
Installed with Tinfoil 8.10

SMS & SMG Run perfectly.
SM64 can be loaded once on one SXOS Boot.
Once you have ran the title, You will get an error screen if trying to reload it; this will kick you out of the game entirely.

So from this point you have Two Options:

OPTION ONE (The Smart/Lazy Method):
Install Payload_Launcher on your System: https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/Payload_Launcher
Follow the instructions on the bottom of the page, real simple.

OPTION TWO (Get your butt off the couch Method):
Hold down the Power Button > Select Power Options > Restart your Switch.
Boot back into the game, select SM64, and you're dandy.

This is certainly part of the latest FW update to run the N64 Emulator, so hopefully we'll get a fix soon.

I have an issue with HBL: if, with the game in stand-by, I try to open HBL via the Album icon, it doesn't open but stay a black screen. I can return to Home menu with Home button.
