Mario’s 25th Anniversary Boxset Coming To The UK
Coming December 3rd
Super-Mario-All-Stars1-e1286446274429.jpg

Nintendo has announced that a special Mario 25th Anniversary boxset will be heading to the UK on December 3rd for the Wii – well that’s my Christmas present sorted then! It has also been listed on Nintendo’s Swedish website – so hopefully the rest of Europe will be getting it too.

The boxset will include the Super Mario All Stars game, a 25 years of Mario history booklet – featuring unseen artwork and development materials - and a soundtrack CD featuring classic Mario themes from the past 25 years.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Super Mario All Stars is a compilation featuring some of Mario’s finest moments – Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels.[/p]

Yeah, they should release a cheaper version with just the soundtrack and book for people that already have the games. But for people that don't have them, this is pretty cool.

Wasn't there a Super Mario All-Stars + World game that came out after All-Stars...?

Wonder why they wouldn't throw World on there to make it a truer, more complete set...?

Yeah got that myself.

I may get it at a good price and if its packaged well, I'm a sucker for these collectors things.

I was just wondering this exact thing myself. I figured they would've just lumped it into All-Stars and dropped the "+World" from the title, but alas, no.

i think its shocking the whole "what can we roll out fast and with minimum work" there's no updates or anything all they have done is made a loader screen and dumped some roms on a disc and will expect people to pay £30 to £40 for it

they could have at least remade them using the NSMBW engine or something i mean the record for making SMB 1-1 in reggie is around 15 minutes so

I'll download it when it's out since there is no reason to pay twice. Thank you, release groups.

And maybe someone offers the booklet as a PDF, too.

Super Mario: 25 Years as Part of the Family

LONDON, September 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ --

- With Photo

It's time to celebrate 25 years of Super Mario, one of gaming's most

loved series' of all time.

In the quarter of a century since legendary game designer Shigeru

Miyamoto's team put the finishing touches to his first major adventure, Super

Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Mario has become one

of the most globally recognised characters in the world of entertainment.

He traverses languages, ages and cultural barriers and today, the Super

Mario Bros. series is the best-selling video game series of all time, with

more than 240 million units sold globally.

"Stimulated by advancements in technologies, we have always enjoyed

creating the Super Mario Bros. games. The series has always taken advantage

of the latest technological advancements and is the fruit of creativity of

many of my hard-working friends working closely as a team", Shigeru Miyamoto,

General Manager of Nintendo's Entertainment Analysis and Development

division.

The Super Mario series of games are touchpoints of

technological gaming innovation. It was the 2D side scrolling adventure Super

Mario Bros. on the NES that took platform gaming a leap further than it had

gone before. We freely explored a 3D gaming world for the first time in Super

Mario 64. And in Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, we've seen 3D gaming extend into

mind-boggling gravity-defying adventures.

You can rest assured that it will be Mario who takes us on

brand new adventures in the future.

To celebrate the occasion Mario fans will be invited to share

their love for Mario with the rest of the world in a special video

competition, visit http://www.nintendo.co.uk/mario for more information.

558 million hardware units globally, including the current-generation Wii,

Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi? and Nintendo DSi XL?, as well as the Game

GameCube? systems. It has also created industry icons that have become

well-known, household names such as Mario?, Donkey Kong?, Metroid?,

Looks nice!
I would like to get it. I'm not sure whether I would have enough money, though. I'm more interested in the bonus stuff instead of the main game. Can't wait until it's announced for NA!
