thanks [IMG] the files and sizes were the same but a few extensions were different [IMG] both games work now, but golden axe still has a note at the start about missing rom or chd files

I haven't ever used clrmamepro to get games working. I use the PC version MAMEUI64 to get my mame games working. Using it, you can see what files are missing from each rom when you click on the game and read the error list on a game that won't load. A lot of times, it is a matter of taking the files missing out of the bios files and injecting them into the zip file for each game. Maybe a little overkill, but it always works for me. I think the main ones are the Neo Geo bios and the Atari bios, that contain the missing files. Different revisions of MAME look for different files, but overall, I think this will get what you are looking for. If the file isn't in the bios, do a google search for the file, and there will be a site forum that always seems to come up on top. You may want to read up on that one.

If MAMEui could ever be ported somehow to the Wii, that would be the chit. Maybe editable on the PC kind of like Configurable USB loader, and then usable once set on the Wii. Also, individual game input settings, would be huge as well.

Is not nothing important, but is possible to hide the Bios roms from game list?

If anyone is interested, I quote myself [IMG]

Is possible to create a folder in roms directory, with the name of the game... Copying inside all files (game files+bios files) works, and only appears the name of the game in mame list...

Well...no offense, but I think you didn't get any response from others because they didn't understood what you're asking for either.

I don't know where you get your sources for arcade games, but I usually find them in .zip format. However, it is NOT NEEDED to extract those. In fact, you shouldn't even rename those files.

Take a look at the example I gave about 3-4 posts back. I explained the contents of the .zip file, but I did not decompress them in any way. mame sdl extracts and uses the selected rom manually, so it only shows the name of the game (the zip file) in the game list.

    Thanks for your answer Wever...

I know that's not necessary to extract the games... My problem was with bios... For example, there are some games that need the Atari Bios File to run (atarisy1.zip), for example "Indiana Jones" or "Road Runner"...
If you copy atarisy1 to folder, the games will work, but "Atari System Bios 1" will appear in SDL Mame Game List... But if you create a folder (for example "roadrunn") and extract inside roadrunn.zip and atarisy1.zip, the game will run and Atari Bios will be hidden in Mame Game List...

That's what I was trying to say... hehe [IMG]

Is there any chance of having the "midyunit.c" driver included? Games running on the driver are:

    Narc
    Trog
    Strike Force
    Smash TV
    High Impact Football
    Super High Impact
    Terminator 2
    Mortal Kombat (Y-unit versions)
    Total Carnage

and at least one of these ran on the SDL MAME 0.125 (for Wii) of old.

    Awesome emulator btw [IMG]

You just set your Wii to 16:9 mode and the emulator automatically scales the game screen correctly.

What I want is to be able to play SUPER street fighter II!
(That's all I can dream, lets forget about CPS2 games...) [IMG]
And it would be really cool if someone here could help about where to get the datasets we all need for converting roms to the necessary 0.134u4 version.

I haven't seen any very recent discussion on SDL Mame Wii, so...

It's such a shame that Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers and Super Street Fighter II Turbo (which run on the CPS2 hardware, as well as Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversery Edition) won't ever work on SDL Mame Wii... World Warrior (which I downloaded from the same site as SSFII) works just fine, and at least you can do CPS1 chains in that and CE and HF. You should probably have two controllers, and map Player 1's controls to Gamecube Controller 2. If Final Burn Alpha Wii is possible... Hyper Street Fighter II gets a CHD error, and Puyo Puyo Tsu never shows up on the rom list like it used to (I think it's only supported by the Nuvalo version).

Mortal Kombat II did work, but as far as I remember it was pretty choppy and a little slow

Anyways, here's a video of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior on SDL MAME Wii:

Well guys, the show is over. SDL MAME Wii is officially dead.

And taking its place is MAME Wii! No SDL here!

    MAME Wii 1.0

    Changelog:
    * Rewritten frontend code entirely, no longer uses SDL.
    * Added better joystick support; Gamecube joystick works!

However, barring some big bugs popping up, I'll probably put this project to rest at this point. It's been a fun couple of years, but I've basically moved on from Wii Homebrew nowadays, but I took the evening off to complete this one last release for you guys.

Also make sure I got the Classic Controller support correct, because I don't have one to test it with. And make sure you replace your old default.cfg file with the new one. The joystick mapping has changed a little bit. Plus I made the exit button on the GameCube button to be Start + Z instead of just Z after I got one particularly nasty slip of the finger during the last half of Turtles In Time with friends.
