Hey Toad King, awesome emulator. One thing, when you go into the menu inside the game (to adjust brightness, vertical, horizontal ect) it wont let you go to the left. It will only let you go to the right. I did not know if that was an easy fix or not. Just letting you know. Thanks again.

No, CHD errors means you have the wrong version of the ROM. The format for a lot of games changes between MAME releases. SDL MAME Wii uses MAME 0.134u4, so get ROMs that work with that version.

that's odd because these roms I am using currently are working in that build but I still get CHD errors. Too bad there wasn't a way to "roll back" the rom eh? would make emulating some of these games easier.

I just did a clean install of the emu to try and get it to work. It boots ok and plays a couple games fine but then after i config the emulator general controls to map the buttons to my arcade stick I'm then guaranteed after about 20 seconds of play (say on the game 1941) to get a code dump.

Now everytime I play the emu it code dumps almost straight away after playing a game. I've just checked the errors log and its not saying anything at all? ..I took a picture of the code dump that comes up though in case thats of any use to you Toadking?

Hopefully its something fixable??

i am a REAL big MAME32 nut and thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this on the Wii...

i was just wondering if there was going to be a new GUI (similar to what Tantric uses for his GX emu's) in future builds...??
and is there any chance of increasing the rom limit...???

err the trouble finding these in thsi format.. I d/l a 40 gig mame .139 but it extracts all files.. each game is not in a zip file. plus couldnt even get mameUI32 to play any games. I do have a old XBOX MAME disk and will see if I can pull some of these off of it to test

Can anyone here in the name of everything holy tell me how to downgrade roms to work on this emulator! Please My head is hurting from trying to figure this out. I know many games can't run because of memory issues but I am trying to run something like "street fighter 2" or "Final fight" Any help at all would allow less frustration for this arcade old school fanatic!!

downgrade ?
this is MAME, which means you need to use roms from the MAME romset which can be found everywhere with very limited effort. If a game shows an error when loading, it means you are either missing a file (MAME roms generally come in the form of a zip file holding multiple .bin files) or the name is incorrect or the game is too big to be stored in Wii main memory.

I found version 0.6 to be a great improvement over the previous. Good stability in my case, the only crashes I experienced happened when I loaded multiple times in the same session big games like SF2CE.
All the games I tried run at full speed, with just some flickering in some of them (Splatter house, Golden Axe, Shadow Dancer)
Thanks, thanks, thanks Toad King!

I was wondering if it's possible to run Toki and Wonderboy in monster land, I tried many sets but they don't even appear in the menu

Have you tried to reconfigure and re-map the general controls in the gui? If I do a clean install the emu seems to run fine and not crash but as soon as I re-map the controls to my arcade stick (which worked fine on all previous versions) then I seem get crashes all the time?

edit: AH crap forget that as its dying on me now even when I just boot the emu for the second time even without playing about with the emulators controls.

I've tried it on a normal sd card and I'm getting the same crashes there too. I'll just stick with 0.5. Sad times.

Do you have any third party controllers plugged in? Are you running MAME from the HBC? Since you're the only reports of serious crashing I'm seeing, try giving me as much info as you can on your Wii setup.

EDIT: Also, what kinds of cIOSes do you have? Do you have anything like DarkCorp or whatever it's called installed?

Thanks for the reply!

I've got a 4.3E wii, homebrew channel 1.0.8 (10S34 v14.23) and ios 249 rev 20. I've also got tantrics IOS58 installed. No darkcorp or priiloader or anything like that... just bootmii which I've got setup to autoboot into the HBC on my sd card on startup.

When I boot the emulator I've got my Tatsunoko Vs Capcom arcade stick plugged in. I've used the stick the same way with your previous builds and its been fine. I can config the emulator (mapping the general controls to the 6 button layout on the stick) when I first try run the emu and I get to play a bit of a game and then not long after I'm guaranteed a crash. Now when I boot the emu it crashes with just the wiimote connected too so I don't know if its something with the emu's updated config thats killing my machine??

I've got no other problems with any other homebrew and as mentioned before your 0.5 version of the emu still works perfectly fine (also with my stick).

Hope that helps?

There is a way to downgrade roms using CLRmamepro however I can't get the roms to "rebuild" after watching a tutorial so I suppose I can't play street figther II or CE on mame wii which is a bummer, I really wanted to play the arcade version on the CC. Since my D-pad on my PC controller is failing. My romset of SF II and CE work work on the one that's used for the wii base. I don't know why the hell it doesn't work.

Try reinstalling the HBC so it uses IOS58. Not sure if it will help, but that's how my Wii is set up.

Ok thanks. When I get home from work I'll give that a go.

edit: Well I reinstalled the hbc etc and its was doing the same thing. I think I've found out the problem though... I've got a wiimote docking/charger attached to a usb port and if this isn't connected then all seems fine. As soon as I reconnect it (even after starting the emu) after about 20 seconds it craps out? So for now at least it works when I want to play this version of the emu as I can just unplug it. Strange though as this charger (which I've allways had and used with my wii) has never afected any homebrew before (inlcuding all your previous revisions of mame) but for some reason it craps out on 0.6 mame??
