Hey is there a NES emulator for the m3 simply that supports save states? Is NESDS my only option? I want to play through Final Fantasy I again but I don't want to do it in one sitting ;-) I guess I could just buy dawn of souls.

Unfortunately, no. As far as I know there isn't even one that supports the regular in-game saves.

emu_kidid made one that supports sram saves, but there is no version with save states as far as I know.

I'm not sure, but I think it has save states. Either way, it won't save on most flash carts, including the R4/Simply.
