Hacking M3 Simply messed after Kirby. Brick attempt?

Bah, im not sure how to word this to be in compliance with the rules @.@ Hopefully this is okay...

I obtained kirby today while i was at school.

and the file was called Kirby_Super_Stars_Ultra_USA_NDS-XPA.rar - filesize around 60MBs, unzipped was 131MBs, trimmed 73MBs


I got it off of a spanish website... cuz my school has MU/RS limited...

put it on my M3 Simply..

My brother was playing it.. got through Spring Breeze.. unlocked Dyna Blade...

went to select another game and.. it froze, kinda

I read in the kirby topic that a lot of people had theirs freeze too.. (Like.. moving stars, but cant go anywhere) same thing happened to my bro.

BUT.. he turned the DS off then back on.. and my screen is all messed up.

Like at the bottom of both screens it wont display the info anymore. It only shows white "fuzz" which looks like someone took the spraypaint tool in "Paint" and sprayed a thick line of it across those 2 spots. Even after turning it on and off, etc.

I tried replacing moonshell and it didnt work still...

But then i tried replacing the firmware i think it is... V.1.14 and it's working for the time being..

but what happened???? Was it some sort of fake kirby game - bricker-thing?? Someone in that post said they found a fake one...

So do you think it was a brick-attempt? You think i got a fake one?

If not, then WHY the heck did my firmware screw up???

Kirby kinda freezes like that on me too and I have a CycloDS. Is your firmware up to date? I am gonna check and see if there is a new one for my Cyclo.

By turning your DS on and off while it crashed, it might of corrupted something on your SD card.

I suggest you trying a fresh format on your card.

Hmmm...

Well if kirby freezes you, and if you turn it off it'll corrupt the card.

how ya sposed to unfreeze it without turning it off? lol.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to fresh format some special way?

Or is it just.. Delete everything, format using windows, drag n drop v.1.14 + moonshell on it?

Cuz i know GBAMP needs update.e19 and whatnot.

I personally use the SD formatting tool by Panasonic.

And yes, just replace the kernel after you do a format.

My Kirby froze during the tresure stage, I haven't been saving there for a while, lost a bunch of progress.
My card seemed fine after that, though.

I haven't played the stages after Spring Breeze (complete) yet, but the mini games won't work on mine. Haven't had the all-freeze yet, but it's still a bummer knowing something else could happen
