Did they fix the DLDI driver so that it works even when the homebrew app isn't in the root directory? With the old driver the app had to be in the root even if you patched it manually.

pretty sure thats not related to the driver, rather just the OS. DLDI driver only handles the FAT access, nothing to do with booting the binary.

also i think in some recent updates, dldi homebrew was already working in other directories (or at least the nds directory).

I think the DLDI driver update could be to improve unaligned read/write support (if it wasn't already supported), or fix the homebrew reported not working (doom?), or even improve SDHC compatibility

Yep, the problem with DLDI is due to the patching system in the M3 loader.

Then we'll probably won't see the icon normally. That's a shame, because that probably means that we'll not be able to turn auto booting on and off.

maybe, if flashing the internal firmware is possible, they could release an update to change the icon and other things.

Something is wrong - on my m3ds real homebrew doesn't work at all now (it worked in 2.7d).

As i wrote before - this update broke homebrew support.

i updated and then i just took the previous DLDI and HOMEBREW files from the previous update and it works as before + the new update^^
(the files i replaced to get it to work is: dldi_ds.g6 and homebrew.eng
don't know if it's enough with just one of them or both, but it atleast works when i took both)
