Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

I'm trying Luma3ds for fun. I don't have any ah9l on my n3ds so I thought I'll try it with emunand first before I decide on the transition. I got it to work with ctrbootmanager, but the next screen confuses me. Do I select the "Use second Emunand as default" to boot in my emunand?

No, that option is only for if you have more than one EmuNAND. Otherwise leave it blank.

Yeah, just figured it out. Went to their option list on github and it says to hold B when booting for emunand. Guess it's normal for luma3ds to not show anything else than the ver. number? It's great that I can use it now, but I think I'll stick with reinand till there's no other option. It does what I want and I'm fine with no ah9l for now.

It's great that I can use it now, but I think I'll stick with reinand till there's no other option. It does what I want and I'm fine with no ah9l for now.

Enable show current NAND in the config menu if you want it to replace the version string.

I am unable to get GBA games working on the latest version of luma 3ds 5.5.
I have a n3ds A9LH with the stage 1 and 2 payload so I can still use my gateway when needed.
I use the latest version of lumaupdater to update and have my pay configure for /anim/arm9payload.bin. I am using the latest version of BootAnim9
If I use lumaupdater it doesn't seem to change the payload no matter what I try if I choose dev or an hourly it doesn't seem to work anymore
when I launch GBA games I get a black screen

I'm pretty sure I have the payload in the required folder because I didn't change anything after installing a9lh and luma3ds except one thing, adding gw's payload. it's named left_gw.bin though. Try to be holding down the button when the animation ends. That's what I have to do with bootanim9

When you go to EmuNAND then into system settings, is it supposed to have the cfw name in the system version
for example, rxTools has like RX3DS 9.2.0-20U

I don't have Emunand I am using updated sysnand they worked before I updated to luma 5.5

And installed Luma3DS on my Old 3DS XL. Then upgraded my system to 11.0 . I don't remember what the latest firmware was, but I believe I was on that. It worked fine for weeks without a single problem.

But when I left it overnight and it's battery depleted, an annoying bug occured. I can still go into my system, but not select any app. The buttons don't work at all, and when I try to select an app using my touch-pen it it gets stuck on said app, and I have to power down the system.
Eventually I made a backup of my Card, and downloaded 5.5 luma (regular version), and I overwrote my card with them. Since I figured there may be some broken files. That didn't fix the issue. I just tried random things like deleting the luma config file and trying different options there. And that didn't do it either. So I wen't back to my old backup I made before attempting all this.

Why doesn't it work? Ideas on what to do? I am obviously a noob on these issues.

Are the buttons working on boot? If you hold Select on boot for instance, do you get to Luma settings? Can you navigate through it?

I got a new SD card, and after literally copying EVERY file onto it, the 3DS shuts off after one second like I don`t have Luma installed.

What do I do?! I deleted everything off my old SD already.

Getting a new SD card can be a bit tricky.

Make sure it is formatted to FAT32

In many cases like yours I have suggested to people to re download the Luma3DS arm9Loaderhax.bin file and place it on the new SD card therefore replacing the old one. Hopefully that helps.

A good choice to format a new SD card is Emunand9 : https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-emunand9-open-source-emunand-formatter-manager.405921/
Start it with your OLD SD card and change it to the new one when it asked you too!
(DONT FORGETT TO PUT THE ORIGINAL BACK BEFORE YOU PRESS B TO GET BACK TO THE MENU!)

hello, I have a problem with pokemon omega ruby and moster hunter 3 ultimate, I have luma3ds v5.5 with coolboot ( I have rxtools too) emunand 11.0.0-33 and sysnand 9.2.

I installed the games in question using fbi 2.2.6 and everything was going well and appeared gift and opened it up there all right, but when I open the game, after the typical screen that says Nintendo 3DS screen goes black and throws me an error:

An error has occurred. Hold down the power button to turn off the console . Then turn it and try again.

I have no idea what to do , other games like mario & luigi the dream team , fire emblem awakening and fates , etc ...Work perfectly but these two I mentioned before give me that error and I really want to play them.

Can you help me?
