I just got LUMA A9LH setup, i installed the tittle manager "Big blue menu" as i was using on emunand before, but it forces a reboot when i try to run it, what should i do? also my system settings say "sys" but 3ds only boots when the sd card is in so im sure its setup propperly

I just updated to the latest commit and payloads are fine. If anyone is having issues with them make sure they are updated and named right. Naming example start_d9.

@TuxSH i have a question- if you checked the "Updated SysNAND" option but don't have an updated sysNAND, are you still able to boot into it?

Does anyone have an answer for that earlier question about leaving the lid closed for a period of time and is there a solution? What would cause of that? It's happened multiple times but not to the point where it makes me reboot 10-15 times to get it fixed.
For the small comments/questions about battery drain on emuNAND, it's probably because the SD card is being read/written to the whole time it's asleep. :P

I'd venture that after a while the 3DS is like "I'm not dependent on reading from the SD card, it'd save me lots of battery if I didn't" and stops. Therefore it crashes.
I really wish I could help...even when I was using emuNAND (now I'm on an updated sysNAND) I don't think I remember anything like that happening. What sort of 3DS do you have? Is it possible that you're hitting the SD card and jogging it out of place slightly, making the 3DS freak out? :P (if you're on a New 3DS this is probably not likely). Other than that, if you felt like trying it and have a9lh, you could try running off of sysNAND for a while (it's pretty easy to switch back and forth).

If sysNAND didn't do it than I'd say it's very likely something to do with the SD card as you are thinking...though it's a bit hard to narrow it down from there.

sys just means you're on the system NAND....not booting without the SD card is indeed normal with a9lh. The two don't have anything to do with each other though really.

Hello folks,

Just got to section IV of this guide. a9lh fails to load dec9 payload every time. holding start while booting but go straight to the home menu rather than the payload. thank you all for the help.

https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax)
what version of Luma3DS are you using and what is your payload named (for start it should be named 'start_nameofpayload.bin' unless you're using an old version)? You should also double check that it is in "/luma/payloads/". Also make sure that you're holding the Start button before you even turn the system on...the time in which you can press it and have it work is very quick.

Thank you very much for the reply. Luma3DS version is 5.4 Luma3DSv5.4.7z. The payload is Decrypt9WIP.bin relabled start_Dec9.bin. am starting fully powered off, holding start firmly then pressing power with no luck.

seems like it's named correctly. Not to ask stupid questions, but you are holding start down while it's booting right and not just pressing it? we all are capable of doing weird things while tired, heh.
Also, just to make sure, where did you put the payload? I suppose you could always try another button too, though I don't know that it would make a difference. It doesn't seem to be the payload itself, it's not actually loading it (so switching it out for a different version of Decrypt9 wouldn't help).

just to ask what you mean, do you mean the wrong folder? It sounded like it wasn't actually loading anything to me...whatever works though just so long as it's working!

sure, i had a separate arm9loaderhax.bin file in the root directory. it was from a previous step in that guide. i did not realize there were separate similarly named files.

aaaaah, you mean the arm9loaderhax.bin then. Gotcha. Good thing you noticed, I know if it was me it would have driven me crazy until I figured it out.

Does the latest nightly fix the problem 11.0 breaks for several RetroArch cores?
you mean the ones that use dynamic recompilation? There is something in there that fixes that, yes. It does some stuff to work around the fixes Nintendo dropped in place to fix the bug they were using to enable that.
