Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

Alright guys here, mega issue. So everything was going fine, device was running fine. That was until I closed the lid for a period of time and set it on my desk. Nothing happened to the device other than just sitting on my desk.
When I opened it again, it was just black. I had to hard reset. Now whenever I go into Luma it's just black. No boot logo or anything. Why would just leaving it sit with the lid closed cause a brick?
Edit: After 15 reboots; issue worked itself out? :P I still would like to know why closing the lid for a period of time freezes the device.

Thanks for the prompt replies.

I restarted the process from Preparatory work onwards. Copied all the files once more and made sure they are the newest.

But the payload key still don't work.

Not sure if this is relevant but the I cannot boot up homebrew laucher anymore.

If youre on the latest FW (11.0.0) then to restore HBL you need to rename the payload the should be on your sd card. I think you just need to change the old fw in the name to the new one and itll work. I dont know why you cant boot emunand9 though. What version of luma are you using? All 3 of my payloads (decrypt9,emunand9 and uncart) are working fine

I also had this problem, though I only encountered it a few times after I installed A9LH to my N3DSLL and it was 2 weeks ago. This whole week I didn't get any black screen or the like when putting my N3DS to sleep while I go home from work (around 30 mins). I'm using the official 5.4 build and 10.7J.

I think I don't get any black screen after I deselect some option in the config to use NTR (the default config in Plailect guide made BootNTR return version not supported when launched).

I don't buy flash memory online either. Too many fakes. Even reputable sites like Amazon often can't tell the difference.

I'm using the latest release v5.4. Update very single payload to the newest but none of them work.

I switched on my 3ds held on to x or y or start whichever button the payload is assigned to until the screen shows up, in this case the homescreen..

In not sure how relevant this is but do you also have your emunand9 folder in the 3ds folder? Im speaking as a complete noob now but wouldnt you need you relevant .3dsx files in their folders as well?

If you have installed it correctly the 3DS wouldn't boot without a SD card (as ist is described in Plailect's Guide!)
I'am sorry for you ...... but if you are on Firmware 11 all you can do now (for the moment and maybe A LONG TIME) get a hardmod Downgrade:

I'm pretty sure they're on 9.2 since they claim to be using emunand, but what do I know? They somehow thought they were running a9lh, so they might be on 11,x right now, thinking they're running cfw after throwing some files into their sd card.

Oh, Luma 3ds+a9lh is making my battery drain in sleep mode as much as not being in sleep mode. I have tested whether or not it is the battery. It has something to do with luma or A9LH.
