It seems like a weird theme is going on these days with members from 08 attacking CFW devs left and right. It's like they came out of a hibernation and are pissed off that things changed without them.

Hibernation? I've been staying on the cutting edge, tyvm. I was told that my un-downgraded 3DS XL had downgrader issues. It made me suspicious. I found that it was old TWL_FIRM. I present this information so that other people who might be using an old TWL_FIRM but have never downgraded their device won't be scratching their heads, and it gets met with defensiveness and denial. But it doesn't matter. I can add a warning just in case anyone's still downloading old TWL_FIRM not to use it with 5.4 (after all, most people get their old TWL_FIRM from one place).

Yes continue. It was to clear out twl crap if people had it.

Thanks for clarifying. Just out of curiosity, why would someone modify TWL_FIRM on EmuNAND? I had Sudokuhax injected to my DS Wifi Settings on SysNAND as a backup, but never had any reason to mess with TWL in EmuNAND.

Oh... you can tell im very very new to this 3ds cfw stuff... lol

Thanks for the help:)

I wouldn't recommend using HBL to run FBI, unless it's to install the FBI CIA (if that will even work). Ah, you said home menu, not homebrew menu. Never mind.

TWL needed patched in EmuNand originally to run DSIware

@Kazuma77 Hey, just wanna say keep up the great work. You never cease to provide us with entertainment and showing how much of an ass you can be. Bravo mate.

P.S. Nice to see you finally agreed that it was an issue on your end and not an issue with Luma itself.

Again, keep up the outstanding performance.

the guide has you create a new emu/rednand which uses the sysnand thus copying over the modded twl shit. the updating step is there to clear that. if your twl isnt modded you can skip it.

Most people that would have Sudokuhax installed would have unlinked long ago, but I see your point. Best to be safe.

There's no need to be rude. You take things strangers say on message boards way too personally. And you appear to take all criticism as an insult, because you deify people as "too big to be wrong". I never claimed to be perfect. I can admit when I'm wrong. But you misunderstand if you think it wasn't an issue with Luma. A change between 5.2 and 5.4 did break old TWL_FIRM compatibility. It's just that the better solution is to tell people to install the latest TWL_FIRM than to ask Aurora to fix it. No reason to waste her time when there's an easy workaround. I just wanted people to be aware of the issue. I'm probably not the first, and probably won't be the last, to try to run 5.4 with an outdated TWL_FIRM.

Everybody should upgrade to the latest commit of Luma3DS. TuxSH has added the svcbackdoor back in, restoring dynarec support in emulators when using 11.0. We no longer require firmware.bin from 10.2 or 10.4

Thanks, that's great news.

So, with the 11.0 update, how do we update our homebrew payload since it blocks the http connection? or am i miss-understanding that part?

You need to use the homebrew cia version then rename your payloads

Just simply rename the payload file for example, my payload:
"hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_OLD-10-7-0-32-USA.bin"
Renamed to
"hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_OLD-11-0-0-33-USA.bin"

rename the end of the payload so it has 11-0-0-33 instead of the 10.7 info
Worked fine, thanks again mr toast! lol even though I know your a sandwich, I always thought of your pic as a mad toast, which sounds/looks awesome in my mind.
