The correct path for the payload must be in the .bin. This is needed for the reboot patch to work. That's why I did the program to change it. :P
How do I change this with Linux? I am assuming I just open the "pathchanger" with a terminal, then launch it with "./pathchanger" from there I enter "AuReiNand.bin"
edit: That feel when you guess and it worked.

The beta seems to be working well for me. It really does boot faster! Not having the external firmware files to patch should help alleviate confusion too (sometimes people don't realize they need to do this, or they copy the firmware files and one got corrupt or something...etc etc).

One thing I would say to anybody though is to check your settings! This update changed my settings a bit (I'm going to guess that removing the 'use patched firmware' setting did this?).

Tested! Got .10 seconds faster - I also have very bad reflex timer skills.

I'm using N3DS with arm9loaderhay (reboots work great!)
64gb and used halfway up on it

As some of you might already know, I was busy with a major AuReiNand overhaul. Now, I'll spoil the surprise for sure, but I learned that I need external testing to find bugs (there's always something that slips up). So, I'm publishing a beta.
http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/UioYD4Mt/file.html
There are a lot of changes:
- Gotten rid of the patched FIRMs, AuReiNand now finds and loads all the FIRMs from CTRNAND by default. If you are booting an emuNAND, the FIRMs will also be loaded from its CTRNAND. This also applies to AGB and TWL FIRM, and allows for a very fast boot with no firmware files on the SD card.
- If for some reason (like using NTR) you do not want to use the CTRNAND FIRM, you can place a firmware.bin in the aurei folder and it will be loaded just for the default NAND.
- The way AuReiNand works has changed. Now you can specify to autoboot SysNAND or not, and a NAND is no more tied to a FIRM (since 9.0 FIRM is autodetected). If you press nothing the default NAND is booted with its own FIRM, L boots the non-default NAND with its own FIRM, R boots EmuNAND with the SysNAND FIRM if you picked "Updated SysNAND", and vice-versa.
- In order for AuReiNand to handle FIRM reboots, the .bin path needs to be hardcoded in the program. The default is /arm9loaderhax.bin (the AuReiNand.dat is also supported for 9.0 people). A PC tool was written to make changing the path easier.

To use the path changer program, just drag the .bin on top and type the filename. (suppose it's in randomloader/arn.bin, type just that).
I'd like to have feedback on "complicated" setups (NANDs with different FIRMs, and things like that) :D
New special ability!!!! :)

Awesome! Thank you. Might have to ditch NTR. I only use NTR for clock speed adjustment. Hopefully Apache Thunder makes more patches one day soon :)

If I didn't need uncart, decrypt9, or emuNAND9, I wouldn't even keep ctrbootmanager9. I already have it set up to autoboot straight into AuReiNAND without delay.
Seriously, AuReiNAND is quite possibly the best CFW for the 3DS! And this update just made it better!

aureinand has a bootmanager built in lol no need for ctrbootmanager9

You can load external ARM9 programs (like Decrypt9) on boot. You need to create a payloads directory inside the aurei folder, place a default.bin inside of it, and (optionally) these other payloads: x.bin, y.bin, select.bin, l.bin, right.bin, left.bin, up.bin, down.bin. default.bin gets launched by holding START or if another payload doesn't exist, for the others you need to hold their corresponding button, except for r.bin and select.bin which are launched with L+R and L+SELECT respectively. If you're using a non-screen-init A9LH, it will be done automatically before launching the payload.
