Sadly, I don't have any crazy setup with different FIRMs, but I wonder how it handles AGB/TWL patching with pre-patched files, specially the AGB one. Gotta give it a try.

It doesn't. You don't need any patched FIRM in the aurei folder anymore. firmware.bin is only if you use NTR basically, it's fully optional. There's no code for loading any other firmware file.

Yup, your SD card can be clean (with the exception of the actual payload and the config file) and AuReiNAND would still work.

Awesome! I love ARN so much! I'll start testing. One thing I did notice is that you HAVE to have a default.bin payload in the payloads folder to have anything else in it to load (ex. The x.bin but no default.bin)

I meant like, when you have already installed a patched TWL_FIRM or AGB_FIRM on your NAND.
Anyway, it actually works! The GBA splash screen is there even when my AGB_FIRM is modified. Same for TWL_FIRM stuff, I thought that it would have some incompatibility, but it's fine.
Boot time is also very fast, it's just amazing. I guess it has the same speed than an unhacked 3DS now.
Shame that I can't help a lot with testing though.
Btw have you thought of getting rid of the "aurei" folder or renaming it to "payloads"? It's almost useless by now, I think? (Besides the NTR FIRM and the config.bin, I guess)

Nope, you shouldn't need any FIRM file now, unless you want to use NTR, then you need the 9.6/10.2 firmware.bin.

So I went and backed up all of my firmware.bins and then deleted them from my SD card, only leaving my Boot splashes. Then booted it up, configured it and shazam! It worked!
Kind of, GBA/DSi just hangs on a black screen with the 3DS light still showing as if it didn't boot into the proper mode.

I renamed "arm9loaderhax.bin" to "AuReiNand.bin" would that make a difference?
