I have no screen init now and I the screen does show light when pressing power xD so yeah.
I noticed this as well, what is weird is I didnt have the flash before with my old noscreeninit. Ugh, this is gonna bug the crap outa me now.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Yeah that's to be expected. When the payload does screen init it could result in screen flicker. You won't get screenflicker during a NAND coldboot though :)
I get screen flicker with my nand coldboot :/

I just compiled the latest noscreeninit only a few hours ago and flashed it, I confirm it works.

Be sure you have all the proper files in the a9lh folder for a full install and that you use the latest installer.

Here it is;

Possibly faster FatFs warrants the 0.2 KB increase, removed D9 launching fix as it is no longer needed with the latest D9

Let's try this one https://gbatemp.net/attachments/auroraarm9lh-noscreeninit-zip.44747/

What constitutes as screen flicker?
When I turn on the power, the backlight appears for half a second, goes black, and turns on as it loads the nand. That's flicker, or no?
yeh, the flicker is when you first hit the power button, the backlight turns on for a split second, then off, then when the nand actually loads it turns back on for a couple seconds before the home screen appears.

I think someone said it was normal but then if that's how supposed to be then I see no difference from screen init and non screen init (at least what I tried). The screen still flickers when I press power and turn it on. I used plailec guide and it uses another fork, and then updated a9lh with safea9lh installer to aurora's fork.

Idk, I personally do not like my backlit turning on and off so suddenly, I feel like that kind of stuff is what burns it out faster, granted I'm kind of paranoid with my electronics but thats just me. The fact that what you uploaded is supposed to be noscreeninit and it flickers and then the other one doesnt kind of makes me wonder what is different about them that causes it.

Try this. With the zip I gave you, that someone posted back, enter the config with select and uncheck the option to allow splash screens on screen init. I tried it now. I dont have the flicker anymore, silly me.

I haven't tested this yet on my 3DS!

Has anyone tested the latest update yet?

I did. I compiled it. It's what I'm using, thanks to your reply earlier in the thread made me realize I was using another fork and not aurora's one. So you can use it.

I did it successfully last night. It should be safe.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

But I can not boot Cakes158 via 9.0 HBL. Since I want to decrypt twl_firmware.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I guess that I should try it again with the normal A9LH(with screeninit).

Cakes can't decrypt firms on a9l. You would have to launch it from a 9.2 nand to get the key file

Yes, I know. I already mentinoed that I did it by HBL(9.1 emuNAND).
That's what I get for trying to read things at 3:30 in the morning. I'm not sure if it will work but I'm pretty sure I have the firmkey for agb
Nvm u said twl lol

Use safe a9lh installer
Create a folder "a9lh" in the root of SD and put those files inside then launch the installer with the method you prefer and press select to update it (I supose you are on a9lh already) and thats it
