I have Luigi's Mansion 3 installed to my emuMMC. I updated the game to 1.4.0 using Match Version with Local Users because I wanted to play co-op, but when the game is about to start, it crashes.

Specifically, if you go to 0:08 in this video, you'll see the screen turn dark green for a split second and then purple. On mine, when it gets to the dark green part, it freezes there for a bit, then says "The software was closed because an error occurred." This happens even if I attempt to start a ScareScraper game by myself, which worked before I updated the game.

Is this a known issue? Does anyone know how to fix it?

I'm not sure what you mean by "formatted". Here's the output from fdisk -l on the SD card; does this answer your question?

    Code:
    Disk /dev/sdi: 59.48 GiB, 63864569856 bytes, 124735488 sectors
    Disk model: SD RAW
    Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
    Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
    I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
    Disklabel type: dos
    Disk identifier: 0x00000000

Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
    /dev/sdi1 32768 63590399 63557632 30.3G b W95 FAT32
    /dev/sdi2 63590400 124735487 61145088 29.2G e0 unknown

    /dev/sdi2 is the emuMMC partition.

If this doesn't answer your question; could you please elaborate?

Alright, how did you create your emuMMC partition?

I followed the instructions on switch.hacks.guide. Specifically, I partitioned the SD card with TegraExplorer and then created the emuMMC with Hekate.

How did you partition the SD card with TegraExplorer?

I don't remember exactly. How should I have done it, and how could I have done it that might have broken LM3?

If your emuMMC was formatted as exFAT, it could have become corrupted.

    How can I check that?

Use the same tool you used to partition it to check how it was partitioned.

I don't see that option in TegraExplorer, but when I select "emuMMC" in Hekate, it says this:

    Type: SD Raw Partition
    Sector: 0x03CAD000
    Nintendo folder: emuMMC/RAW1/Nintendo

    Does that answer the question?

How can I check whether the filesystem is corrupted?

That doesn't tell me if its FAT32 or exFAT. And you can't really check if its corrupted or not.

Do you know of any specific utilities I can use to check which file system it is? I tried mounting the "emu RAW GPP" from Hekate's USB Tools menu, and it showed up on my PC as a block device with 11 partitions, but none of them contain a recognized filesystem. Linux supports both FAT32 and exFAT though; how would I mount it so I can check on my PC? I was thinking maybe I could run fsck on it. (That's the Linux equivalent of Windows' chkdsk.)

Any formatting tool should be able to check.

Wait, are you talking about the PC-readable partition on the SD card? Like the one that actually appears on the Switch as the SD card, where (e.g.) pictures and videos are saved? You said the emuMMC, which is the partition that the Switch uses in place of the eMMC. That partition is FAT32. I ran fsck on it anyway and it fixed an uninitialized free cluster summary; I'm also moving LM3 to the "system memory" (really just the other SD partition.) I'll let you know if that worked.

No I was referring to the non-readable partition aka the emuMMC but its good to know you made progress.

Okay, so what I tried didn't fix it. If you are referring to the emuMMC though, how do I get that mounted on my computer in a way that it can read? Like you said, the emuMMC partition isn't readable (well, more accurately, it isn't mountable) on a PC. And like I said before, "emu RAW GPP" in Hekate USB Tools gives me a drive with 11 partitions, but none of them contain a recognized file system either.

Try using Mini Tool Partition Wizard.
