PS1/2 Lots of questions.

Not too long ago I would have considered what I'm about to ask sacralidge. Should I buy a used PS2? I have a Wii (soft modded) and DS (flash cart M3DS Real) I usually don't like the PS2 but Gamestop is selling them for $70 plus there is a $20 off coupon. I mean $50 for a PS2?!? Even I would do that. But before I buy are there any good features? What type of homebrew is there? Are there any other uses for the PS2? I have been afraid to hardmod my Wii because I do not want to void the warranty, but I would be willing to hard mod the PS2. What chip do you recommend? Is there a good site for this information (other than GBA Temp)? I have this same thread but for the Xbox here. Which would you recommend PS2 or Xbox?

You dont need a chip to mod the PS2 can be soft modded to play iso (on burnt disks) or on the hard drive

there are a few sites updated today such as PSX-scene , or http://www.console-exploits.com/ or http://sksapps.com/ , there are a few more but cant remember them...

as far as homebrew goes, not the strongest area, most the homebrew mainly involves running iso's without paying for kits like Swap Magic
PGEN being the best emu (and was devolped by datel which was included in action replay max evo until hacked and is now a homebrew aplication)

again the main issue is getting all those AAA games running nice and good

me I have an orginal "fat" PS2 softmodded with uLauncher Elf (launches homebrew), a 120GB hard drive with 46 games, HD Loader, and COGSWAP exploit with a homemade slide card (the free version of swap magic)

well the only think I can answer about the xbox is the halo modding
imo its not really worth it, you can do this very easily on the PC with the PC ver of halo (and free online play to boot >:3 ) where as you need XBL and you risk a ban from hacking your halo game on XBL (one of my friends got a perm xbl for doing that with halo 2, inf health, instant headshot I think lol)

So it looks like it just depends on what other games work on the systems, for which one I should get. Are there any good strategy games on the xbox or other games on the xbox or PS2?
