After a week of teasing a new title, Square Enix, through their smaller studio, Tokyo RPG Factory, has revealed their latest project: Lost Sphear. Screenshots seem to show that this will be an isometric turned based RPG, made by the same team that created "I am Setsuna". The music will be composed by Tomoki Miyoshi, who helped created the soundtracks for Soulcalibur V, Steins;Gate, and I am Setsuna. Lost Sphear is scheduled to release in 2018, digitally, for PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 platforms. A collector's edition will be available through Square Enix's online store, which is the only way to buy the game physically.

Looks like it could be fun but I first thought this is for 3ds as the Grafic is not that awesome ...

even though I like this kind of Grafic style they could probably do better for the switch.

Neat, going through I am setsuna atm and having fun. Hopefully this improves on the forumla, since setsuna has some weird bumps in it.

I had hoped it'd be an action rpg, but nope ._.
still, it looks very promising for being a turn based one.

Looks so bland, like if you put those screens with a load of android Kemco RPGs and said pick out the Square Enix title, I wouldn't be able to.

Do you mean because of the Mode 7 reminiscent graphic standards? /s

The struggle. Anyways, these screenshots make it look interchangeable with any other JRPG. 4-character conga-line running along a dirt road in a field flanked by mountains, stone bridges over 1-tile wide rivers, and a fixed camera angle are like the bread to the stereotypical RPG sandwich. But if I had even the slightest faith in Square-Enix, this line
might have made me believe this sandwich had some meat inside it by finally making the turn-based system a bit more complex.

    But not on switch

I found I am setsuna mediocre at best. This one here has to do way better for me to consider buying it. The other square rpg, whatsitsname, which was announced in January, looked more interesting to me. I personally love the 16bit-esque Rpgs and wouldn't mind more of them.

    Earth, bro-dude.
Well, at least SE and Nintendo are talking again.

Can we please get our Super Mario RPG sequel with our beloved characters? A Final Fantasy × Bravely Default? Chrono Trigger HD? True classic (J)RPGs?

Sure, but they need to have some interesting story or gameplay mechanic added into it.
At least this game is making a terrible job in luring me in, if it happens to have some kind of interesting thing to it.
Throw in some interesting baits there relating the plot in the trailer, give hints that there is something big going on, etc.
I don't know if the game is just generic as fuck, or if they are doing a terrible job at marketing.

It looks exactly like I am Setsuna. Maybe that's a problem, cause I am Setsuna was not the big masterpiece with its extremely repetitive winter landscapes and neverending piano music.
