A busy evening during a quiet for commercial releases week.
Nothing has really happened on the homebrew, DLC, XBLA or other fronts and I did a summary post yesterday so if you are in need of such things you are pointed in that direction <a href="http://gbatemp.net/t224534-3rd-may-2010-xbox-360-releases" target="_blank">http://gbatemp.net/t224534-3rd-may-2010-xbox-360-releases</a>

    Region free.

I have not played the first title but apparently it is not a direct sequel as such. For those just appearing it is a third person shooter although mechs/vehicles also exist. Co-op is also available which is always good.
    edit: <a href="http://www.co-optimus.com/game/1069/xbox-360/lost-planet-2.html" target="_blank">http://www.co-optimus.com/game/1069/xbox-3...t-planet-2.html</a>
to clarify split screen and online co-op (two players offline, four online, no LAN play)

WOW, so many good games coming out on the same day.
Can't wait to try this one out, although I will finish Alan Wake first because it's just pure awesomeness.
I hope LP2 is as good as they claimed it would be.

Don't think I'll bother with this. From what I've read even single player you're accompanied by bots (which are apparently very, very stupid), shame really. First one was a great single player game, then they have to jump on the multiplayer bandwagon.

When you say coop, is it splitscreen coop or online only coop?
This determines if I give a crap.

*Edit: I just looked it up myself, holy shit it's splitscreen! Yessss!

My apologies Gaisuto, I too am a great fan of local co-op (too much streets of rage back when/to this day thanks to emulators) and overlooking such an important detail is not good work on my part.

Others: http://www.co-optimus.com/system/1/xbox_360.html is good for such distinctions in the future.

Really [IMG]? I think I'll have to call my buddy soon...it's time for some local Fun [IMG]. It's really sad that there are so less good local Coop-Games for the XBox360...oh well, at least we have a new good one.

I saw my friend today who managed to grab it and we played for a while- single player is not bad although the AI leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to complex strategy/objectives (of which there are a few) but as a wingman it is OK (you can however turn them off and go solo). I am not the greatest fan of third person shooting and while the recent splinter cell did it better I have seen so much worse on this front and that they mix it up (better yet provide you the option of mixing it up) with big weapons, some grappling hook action (not as good as just cause 2) and mech suits makes it work well.

Co-op as with many things improves on it immensely although split screen takes the COD approach and instead of a narrow view or not much vertical you get windowed as it were- not good when you are playing on a monitor but still works well enough. System link I imagine is great.

A note- to select split screen when creating a match you have to change it where it says system link.

I suppose the obvious question is did I enjoy it more than gears of war- I did in fact but I can see others calling me on my "bad taste" for such a statement.

In conclusion- a must for co-op fans but others I still suggest you play splinter cell first.

Well...this is a letdown. I don't have a big TV, those screens are god awful. I mean shooting the big bugs sure they're big, but like the second mission int he game where you have to shoot people. They're essentially tiny black dots on my TV! I dunno what to hit!

And you can't even use your customized character in the campaign, so no Wesker shooting giant bugs for me... Lame.

It got slammed by IGN. Got a 6.0... but I already have it so I will judge for myself, after Alan Wake!
