Title says it all. I just recently got a 32gb Micro SD card for my 3DS. And my 3DS is recognizing it. It's a Sandisk. I also picked up a Micro SD Card USB Reader for my PC. My 3DS is still picking up that I have still homebrew on it and Luma and Godmode9 if that makes sense. All I need to do is to install apps and get the homebrew launcher, etc. FBI, etc Every single file on there and It's asking me to update Luma too. How do I do all of this? I haven't used Homebrew on 3DS in AGES. I'm afraid I'll screw everything up since Its already been homebrewed. It's still shows Twilight Menu too on my 3DS Home Menu. How do I get all the apps I need? I'm confused. I just want to back up all my 3DS games. I want to play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on Citra. And play Majora's Mask Restoration with Henriko Magnifico's texture packs on my PC. Can someone tell me what I need to do please? It's 2024 so it's been along while. I didn't even know that Luma updated so I don't know what I need to do. Can someone help me please and direct me what I need to do to get things back in order as well as installing themes, etc? Thanks. :) I already know how to backup my games. I'm afraid if I back them up with out Homebrew Launcher, etc I'll brick my console. Etc. Thanks.

You need to search the web for the latest version of Luma 3ds. Once you find a trusted source and download it to your PC, delete the old Luma 3ds from your SD card, and replace it with the new one. Also, did you happen to mod your 3ds off of 3ds.hacks.guide? If so, in order to redownload necessary and helpful applications such as hb menu, (Homebrew menu) FBI, Universal updater, ETC. Just follow https://3ds.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup.

Start by determining current Luma3DS version

Highly likely you just need:

followed by

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks I got it all working a few weeks ago just can't finalize everything at all. Read the entire guide. I got the apps installed and everything but I cannot install CIA files at all. But only works with 3DS files. Any advice? Thank you. :)

What does that mean? Are you getting an error message, or what?

But only works with 3DS files.
What works? What are you doing with 3DS files? You shouldn't be doing anything with those.

@Xdqwerty, I guess. No places that sell screwdrivers around?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @_Ruri_, not that I remember
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
    Oof. Maybe supermarkets sell them?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @_Ruri_, mmaybe
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
They should be pretty common screwdrivers so there's a chance
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
Don't know about the tri-wing screwdrivers though
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
They're basically Nintendo exclusive from what I know so no chance you're gonna find them in random physical stores
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
The normal cross ones you could though so you can probably take out the back cover
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@_Ruri_, they don't seem to be tri wing screws
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
@Xdqwerty, You could have a chance to take out at least the back cover then

Dunno about the insides though, never disassembled a 3ds

Try checking out the iFixit guides

Huh according to the iFixit guides it doesn't seem like you need tri wing screwdrivers to disassemble the insides
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
    That's pretty good news

    Rest are standard Philips screwdrivers
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
And various spudgers but you could make-do with other stuff no problem

    What's the issue again?

@Xdqwerty, Dunno if you'll read this but I finished reading the story, I love the humor lol, and the idea of an incompetent hero with a smart kid is really particular, haven't seen it around much. Their dynamic kinda reminds me of Manzai (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manzai) humor, pretty cool

A small flathead screwdriver that just fits in the center unscrews triwing screws with ease

  • lwiz @ lwiz:
Triwings are often included in phone/console repair screwdriver sets as well - those available in hardware stores. Have to read what's included carefully. Got one myself without realising it first. Usually those with lots of separate bits, torx, phillips etc.
