Awesome. Can't wait to play it. I'm an avid LoTR fan and I've always wanted to try LoTRO to see what they've been able to create, and if it's up to at least some of the epicness that LoTR is.

I hope that I get chosen for the beta testing [IMG]

I've seen this coming for a year now, there's already close to a week every month that's free for anyone who already had a character and account. Still, I'm a bit confused as to why they're apparently making a separate free-to-play client; either they expect everyone who's already paying to keep paying and hidde this from them (I don't play anymore, but I was a beta tester for the original release and they haven't notified me of this by e-mail like they do with everything else) or this version's gonna be heavy on microtransactions or light on features.

SWEET! And it should be low spec so my laptop can run it! [IMG]
Although I heard LOTR:O never got any permissions for the characters so they all look different to the movie versions, including the balrog.

Alright I've signed up but no promo code so less chance I guess.

Here's a comparison of the various features available to free, premium, and vip members:
    Link.

I'm not particularly a fan of MMORPGs, but it should be interesting, lol.

My bet is on tons of micro-transactions, if not immediately, in the future it will be. This always happens with free-to-play games.

I have always wanted to try this game, but the monthly fee required by most pc mmo's has always been a turn off to me. If I can get in the beta, I can try it out without the monthly commitment. Thank you for the information.

On the second link you posted it has the option to "play free for 10 days" which I might just do since I've not played before and it's a while until 'fall'
Just a heads up anyways that you can apparently play free now without waiting for the actual free game release.

Guys, is this game worth downloading? because its 6GB, not to mention all the patches, I just don't want to waste my time.
