Looking to start Metroid hacking project

    I have some Ideas and they all revolve around Metroid fusion or zero mission here are a few
    1. remake Metroid 2
    2. make metroid Dread lossely based on these maps
    3.perhaps if I can find a coder to make a good game engine make the project a DS homebrew project ussing DS game maker
    4. join forces with AM2R to port there game to the DS or a gba rom hack
    any Ideas or people who want to help the project?

    To be honest I would prefer from the scratch than playing with porting and correcting things...really...but maybe that's because I usually prefer console answers than GUI [​IMG] that's why I don't use DS Game Maker [​IMG]

    Metroid Dread is still coming out. (read the metroid other m interview, he says that the 2 are seperate and that he is familliar with metroid dread)
    And that map was an epic april fools joke.

    It depends really, you wanted to make metroid dread for DS/GBA despite its development, starting from scratch is better
    if you just wanted to make a hack (to make it harder, or to revamp it) then as you said, double helix.
    I'd use Metroid Zero Mission as a start point, and import tiles from Fusion if necessary, cause Fusion has a little thing called its storyline which prevents you from making a real hack. Sure you can change the text, thats easy, but the events...
