and i would like to know what kind of flashcart to get.

i am interested primarily in playing mother 3 on it, so it must be able to play 32 megabyte roms. i have my eye on the ezflash iv, but i am not sure if it is capable of playing mother 3.

and suggestions? what are some popular gba flashcards?

popular gba flashcarts? your several years late. this is whats left:

These are still available for the most part:

3in1 (GBA size aka PHAT):
http://realhotstuff.com/expansion-pack-size-p-212.html
http://www.bamboogaming.cn/shop.php/flash-...ing-/p_116.html
http://shop01media.com/info.asp?ProductID=33589
http://www.0shippingzone.com/flash-expansi...size-p-212.html

EZ-Flash IV:
http://www.realhotstuff.com/ezflash-size-p-294.html
http://www.gamersection.ca/product_info.ph...products_id=147
http://www.0shippingzone.com/flash-flashcard-p-516.html

Supercard miniSD:
http://www.ndscardsale.com/product/Super-C...nsparent-Purple

Supercard SD:
http://www.gamersection.ca/product_info.ph...;products_id=61

Other things still available to get for GBA:

Elink 1G:
http://www.nrebate.com/en/elink-gba-flash-...mp;currency=USD
http://66.7.221.210/~minionli/store/index....mp;productId=10 (lite version)

Software for elink here: http://www.elink2.cn/ or http://ifile.it/z7568ra

Misc GBA flashcarts:
http://shop01media.com/categoryb.asp?ID=14...ts+Slot%2D2+GBA
(you can get an ewin if you want, probably last of the stock)

gamersection.ca never even dropped the price since they listed them.

I'd go for the Elink over the supercard, just on the game speed issues the supercard miniSD has. Besides having a pure NOR flashcart is handy to play the patched version of mother3 without trying to trim the rom etc.

You will need a NDS to flash roms to the 3in1. The supercards are not a recommended cart, they are just there because it is still available only.

A EZ-Flash IV or Elink (the one from nrebate).

Get the EZ-Flash IV, if your worried about running homebrew. If you can't fit the rom in NOR on the EZ-Flash IV, you got the rom from a bad source. It doesn't require drivers to work, that means you can be on a mac or linux.

A few things you will need to get and while you wait for the EZ-IV to come in the mail.

The EZ-Flash IV client, you need this to SRAM patch any problem-matic games.

GBA Skins and skinning tools, unless you like the default vader skin:

Some things for some emulators:

You can use the older client version if you want ONLY GBA support.

if i get the older client version (which merely leads to the forum index) does that improve gba performance?

and just to be clear, the ezflash 4 has a menu or something from which to choose homebrew and games, correct? the ez-flash 3(which i am slightly more familiar with) only allows you to load up one game to NOR, at which point it only plays that game.

gba updates ended a long time ago, most updates are for the NDS stuff. Even that too is probably over.

Here is the link to the client program and any older versions:
http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=793

Yes, the EZ-Flash IV has a menu system. You put your stuff on the miniSD.

This is a EZ-Flash III (which is another flashcart they use to make altogether):
ez3.jpg

This is the EZ-Flash V 3in1 Expansion Pack, aka 3in1 (your attempt at shorthand sucks, this what you are refering to):
3in1-white-2.jpg

Another reason why 3in1 is used over "3 in 1" and "3-in-1", GBATemp has a 3 letter minimum for search words and dashes are ignored.

Here the EZ-Flash IV usage and FAQ:

Homebrew:

Anything not found there is found here on GBATemp.

Which of these meet all the above requirements?
- I want it to be able to play on an SP.
- I want it to be able to play GBA games.
- I want it to have an SD (any size) card slot.
- Able to put ROMs on SD card, and then put that SD card in slot and play games from the SD card.
- Ships to Canada (QC).

Every shop listed will ship to Canada. If you didn't bother to read it first before quoting, one of them is in Canada.

These are all GBA sized flashcarts unless specified as lite, which is not for GBA/SP/micro.

As for what you want, the SD slot, you don't get to choose what it uses. If it uses external media, of course you can put it on the storage medium. You still need to use the EZ-Flash IV Client.

As for everything else, read the whole thread again.

As for the other 2 questions in the other thread.
1. Games load faster if they have internal storage, this is normally called NOR in a GBA flashcart.
2. By use of a cable to the cart or GBA/SP/micro depending on what you got. The older ones have their own writer, which doesn't require a GBA/SP/micro to put games on the cart.

The EZ-Flash IV, then the Supercard miniSD.

If you want to get a supercard miniSD, you also need to know it's issues.

Be aware that there are currently lots of reports of sites selling fake versions.

READ THE OTHER POSTS, ANSWERS ARE ALREADY THERE.

Why can't you just answer my question please?
The time it took you to link me to that, you would've been done answering the question.

The Supercard Mini SD, does that use an SD card? If so, what size?
Also, on the page it mentions that it's for NDS and NDS Lite. Does it still work on an SP?

I said disregard the price. That means I don't care about the price, I want to know which of them is the best, not taking price into account.

Supercard miniSD

the name itself answers your question. It also works with a microSD plus a micro to miniSD adapter.

It works with SP, I had one, but there are too many supercard fakes out there now. I'd rather get an Ez-Flash IV.

RHS is in the USA.
gamersection is in canada.
0shipping is in Hong Kong.

You can pay more for it and get it sooner or pay less and pay for it in shipping time from HK.
WTF is wrong with you? I want to know which one is the best specs wise...
