I don't care if download/net play is broken. Not gonna have net access for at least 6 months (*sighs* gonna miss a lot of great releases) and I don't know anyone else that has a DS.

Gonna be moving and not have net access for at least 6 months, so I wanna cram as many games as I can on my two 1 Gig MicroSD cards. One of them will be used with my EZ-Flash IV Lite with 500 megs or so used for GBA games.

I recommend NDSTokyotrim. It's fast, and can handle giant batches of roms. You can find it here.

EDIT: Spelled Tokyo wrong

So far, the best trimmer I've found is SkinnyRom....with version 1.2 your able to unzip one or batches of roms, trim them and remove the scene numbering i.e. "0123 - " all in one go, its simply the best DS util I've seen for ages!

I was just about to say that too. I recommend GBATA (google

).

NDSTokyo is probably one of the best trimmers out there since it keeps the RSA intact. This is the trimmer I switched to a few days ago because of this feature. Before that I was using EZ Trim.

Is that... You know... Really possible? I'll try it ASAP then! I use Download Play quite a lot. On my M3 Simply, I can't trim roms which I use Download Play with because of this.
I would be very grateful if this works!
What is the RSA?
The RSA is a signature that checks whether the code you download using DS Download Play is legit or not. So without the RSA hacked it's not possible to use homebrew.
WiFiMe uses a hacked Super Mario 64 DS demo to keep the RSA Signature intact.

Some games don't support Download Play on the M3 Simply because the files are patched and the RSA Signature is broken. The whole thing is also messed up when you trim a rom.
It seems like it is possible to trim the rom with this program though...

Edit: I just googled for NDSTokyo, but I can't find it anywhere. Link?

Edit 2: I think I found it by googling for rsa trim ds

There's code in EZTrim to keep the WiFi sig intact (as far as I know Rominator has it as well), although cos I've only got an R4 I've not been able to test it properly. Would you mind trimming a few download play roms with EZTrim and seeing if it works?

What do you mean? If you can't test it with the R4 for it isn't possible with the M3 Simply either.

I will test it tonight (hopefully) though

I just tested it on my M3 Simply
ohmy.gif
It works
wtf.gif
I trimmed some roms and I put them on my SD-card.

I started to test Ridge Racer (it's 0017
wink.gif
) and it works! I'm going to test my other (trimmed) roms now.

Btw, those roms already work with Download Play untrimmed. The rom trimmer isn't doing magic or something (well, I didn't test it, but...).

I'll make a quick compatibly list:
0017 - Ridge Racer DS (U): Works (multiplayer)
0031 - Polarium (E): Works (demo and multiplayer)
0061 - Bomberman (U): Works (multiplayer)
0413 - Tetris DS (E): Works (multiplayer_
0457 - Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain (E): Works (demo and multiplayer)
0655 - Elite Beat Agents (U): Works (only multiplayer tested, no time for the demos
tongue.gif
)

Everything is tested in the game too: I start a game and play for a while.

I haven't got any time left... I'll test more later.

Yeah...I don't have another DS here with me right now to test download play with the EZ Trim. I didn't know it kept RSA intact, so I never even tried download play with it. But I know NDSTokyo works.

There's a couple trimmers on TeamCyclops forums that keeps the RSA intact. Check them out over there.

I'll have another DS tomorrow, so I'll test EZ Trim with my CycloDS. I wanna try NDSTokyo with my R4 right now, but again, and I don't have another DS...

I use DS Trimmer made by Bodom Child. A simple, fast and convenient Drag N' Drop trimmer, it trims in batches as well. It can be easily found on google.

Ah, okay I'll run my GBA ROMs though GBATA then. Do I trim them before or after I run the game though the EZ-Flash client?

DS-X Manager is good (not specifically for DS-X, just make a folder called apps in your C drive). Rominator (hankchill) and TrolleyDave's Commander are also good if you want to organize as well as trim.
