When you say "> 2 TB," do you mean it won't work with anything less than 2 TB?

Do you have a network adapter already?
If you don't, get an official network adapter, since 3rd party adapters may have issues.

I personally use a StarTech IDE2SAT adapter, but I had to disassemble the network adapter to get it to fit in the PS2 enclosure.

You can use this 40pin to 44pin

and this 44pin to SATA:

Ok, then. The official adapter only supports IDE HDs, right? If so, which 2TB IDE HD is reccomended?

There is no 2TB IDE HD that is still being manufactured.
Use my recommendations for SSHD and SATA to IDE adapter.

Also, **do not** load games via SMB or USB. They are dog slow/have compatibility problems.

having a full-size tower use to be the hottest shit in the 00's/2010's, but i don't think that's the case anymore considering how much pc hardware has stagnated in terms of raw power
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
that's the last time i had one - storm knocked it the fuck out and i kinda went towards console peasantry to NOT have to get GPUs every quarter lmao

    PS360 days were glorious

and then came 2017 - tater laptop was lagging behind larger raw files, and MonHun World was coming out

soon as Cap announced it FINALLY coming to PC - i started hunting for upgrades

tbh there hasn't been meaningful upgrade of graphics power since the RTX 3000 series, they've been substituting raw power with AI shit these days :/
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
got a ROG pos with 1060 that was a literally hot pile of shit, returned that thing, hunted a bit more and found my Micro Center re-badged and shittier-mobo'd Clevo with 1070 for joke of $1200

  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
otherwise I wanted the 2070 or so with 12gb
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
basically whatever is closer to $200 and at least 8gb or better with stupid-fuck DLSS support since games now DEMAND it or won't run

    like new Indy Jones
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
i turn all that shit off anyway, but when it refuses to launch....
  • UltraHurricane @ UltraHurricane:
sadly, i don't think you can find anything good for $200, unless you're REALLY lucky on ebay or fb marketplace
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    well, like 2070
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    but realistically $250
