Lookin' for Magazine Staffers
Think You Got What It Takes?
newspaperboy.png
Read on below if you're interested.

What's this all about?
Well, GBAtemp needs some new members to join the GBAtemp Magazine Staff. It seems like our Homebrew news section is a bit lacking, and it's possible we get a new news section sometime soon.
The Portal is the most important part of the website, and it's our job to keep it up to date as fast as possible. Seeing as we could always use the extra help, we decided to launch this event.
It's a lot of work, and it requires a good bit of time.

What's required of a GBAtemp Magazine Staff member?
Well, there's a lot of different qualities one needs to become a Mag staffer.

- Active contributor to the community
- Spend time daily on the website
- Intelligent, mature poster
- Somewhat veteran of a member (been apart of the website for a little while)
- Have decent knowledge of BBCode and preferably HTML as well
- Willing to posts news regularly, of course
- Know the standard format of our Portal news posts

I think I'm pretty qualified, where do I sign up?
Well, it's simple really.
You'll need to PM me with a news article you have written (must be in correct GBAtemp format, excluding the header of articles). Note you'll not be judged solely on the article, but by the qualities above mainly.

Ok, I've submitted. What now?
I will read through the PM's you've submitted, and once he's chosen the top three members out of all the submissions - the GBAtemp staff will decide whether to make said member apart of the Magazine Staff.
Many times in the past have members become Magazine Staff, posted for a small while, then stopped contributing all together - if you show this patter quickly, then you'll most likely be asked to leave.
Members may submit their article submissions by October 20.

What are the advantages of being a GBAtemp Magazine Staff member?
There are lots of advantages! Magazine Staff members are allowed to do official GBAtemp flashcart reviews (which are supplied free, might I add).
Magazine Staff members are able to view their own "secret" forum, where they can have discussions with other Magazine Staff members.
They also get operator status in the GBAtemp Chatroom. Magazine Staff members who spend a good bit of time on the website and show leadership are eligible to be promoted to the GBAtemp staff, as well. Most importantly, Magazine Staff members get to be my personal pet.
Of course, that's not all you get to do when you're a Magazine Staff member - you'll just have to find out yourself. ;)

-JP

Update: I'll be closing the "contest" as of Monday, October 13th. Hurry and make your submissions soon, if you're wanting to try out.

Does it have to be new news you pm or can you send a pm with a link to one of your previous submissions?

Do we need to write an article about something just released, or write about anything to show our style?

It seems the current staff are all up to date with the recent news...

I can think of at least one recent thing not covered by the news.

Which format should we be using. I guess if I'm asking I'm not qualified, but I would like to know for future reference.

To all those asking what format the news should be in, read the article again.
It should be in the GBAtemp Portal news format!

I look forward to your PM's, my pets.

Unless I missed something, we can't post html. I approximated with bbcode as faithfully as possible :|

EDIT: I'll submit it with the script

EDIT2: My entry is in.

tinyt: you can just use this script the way you want, and we won't "approve" the article (approving means moving it to the portal). I think people already do this sometimes.
