Gaming London Life and sound not working

I can play Layton and the Last Specter but much of the sound (only voices and cutscenes work) is missing and opening London Life only results in a white screen. I am using AKAIO 1.8.9 and a patched ROM. Is there any way I could address the issue?

1) try formatting your micro sd card with the panasonic sd formatter (here's a guide by CrimzonEyed). NOTE: don't forget to back everything from your msd card to your computer before formatting, as formatting will delete everything in your msd card.

2) Get yourself a clean rom (not a patched one), as akaio tends to work better on clean roms. Just make sure that the region of the rom is the same as the previous one (otherwise, your old save won't work).
