lolSnes -- SNES emulator for DS

    Just because lolSnes prints messages, doesn't mean they're the cause of a game freeze/crash.

    The contents of the guru med screen would be much more interesting.

    Perhaps, just as a suggestion for a feature down the road, but do you plan to add an SPC player?

    As well, just a small bug, but I noticed roms need to be in lower-case extensions for lolsnes to recognise them. If they're .SMC, it won't recognize them, as opposed to .smc.

    secret of everymore fr: freeze on menu, 16 x 16 tiles not supported
    star ocean us : guru meditation error
    super mario bros 4 (smw hack) : guru meditation error
    smw universe (smw hack) : work
    dragon quest 6 fr: the menu work but the sound is slow, freeze when i try to launch my

    savegame.
    tales of fantasia fr: not work
    breath of fire 1 fr: freeze after the translation team advertising.
    breath of fire 2 fr: freeze after menu.
    ff5 fr : freeze on menu
    kaizomario (smw hack) : work
    mario and wario: I can't leave menu
    rudora no hidou fr: freeze on menu
    secret of mama fr: freeze on nintendo logo
    seiken densetsu 3 fr: freeze after squaresoft logo
    dragon quest 1-2 us: guru meditation on the translation team advertising.
    dragon quest 5 us: blue screen on starting
    dragon quest 3 us: bug on menu, i can't start the game, the menu show just one windows with the letter j.
    smw bowser revenge (smw hack): work and there are not graphicals bugs
    plok eu: work but unplayable: 16 x16 tiles not supported
    call of cthulhu (smw hack): freeze after logo
    super mario lost in monochrome (smw hack): not work
    mariox world deluxe (smw hack): work, (not work on snemulds)
    mario give up (smw hack) work
    mario in mushroom planet (smw hack) freeze on logo!

    since the last revision, there are graphicals bus one smw (wood border)

    As for the SPC player... later, definitely. It'd be even lower priority than some of the special chips (DSP1 would be a nice start).


    Anyway, the Christmas release got delayed due to, uh, celebrating Christmas, and some dumb assignment at univ. Now, well, I should be able to release it soon. I just have to fix a weird bug regarding the WAI instruction. And some other issues.

    However, I can say that Super Metroid works better on my build now. It doesn't freeze during area transitions anymore. There are still some issues I'd like to fix, though.


    The IRQ timing in my build is a lot better, though. It will hopefully fix many other games.

    Merry Christmas! That's rough though, having an assignment right then.

    This may not be high priority, but could possibly make a full file browser for lolsnes? That is, adding the ability to load a ROM from any folder in on the chip.

    DSP1 would be interesting, I wonder how fast a special chip game could run on the DS.

    The build with improved IRQ support and shit is out! It should fix quite a few games.

    It also makes DKC playable, although the game occasionally suffers from extreme slowdowns.

    Oh and last, I finally finished implementing the lid close feature. You can close your DS and it pauses properly instead of still running.
    (or press the lid key on desmume, although it doesn't work as nicely- sound will keep looping because desmume doesn't support sound power management)


    I'm also going to say that this is likely the last Git build before the v1.1 release.

    Here's my test results with the Jan. 1st build.
    NBA Jam: Working. The score screen has some glitches, and the whole game is pretty slow, but it's still at least playable.
    Rock N Roll Racing: Working. The character select screen has some glitches, the gameplay's slow, and the voice samples skip.
    Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Unplayable. Freezes after the Capcom logo.
    Super Famicom Wars: Unplayable. Black-screens on launch.
    Super Mario All-Stars: Working. On Mario 1 and the Lost Levels, the ground is off-screen and there's a flickering line in the sky.
    Super Puyo Puyo: Playable. No slowdown, good sound emulation, and decent scaling.
    Tetris & Dr. Mario: Working. Dr. Mario plays fine, but the bottom row of Tetris' field is off-screen.

    Burn-In Test Cart: Guru Meditation Error. Will post later.
    Super Mario Kart: Freezes at Nintendo Logo because of unsupported chip.
    Sutte Hakkun: No difference from last build. Freezes at file select or password entry.
    F-Zero: Freezes after vehicle selection or on track selection.
    Undake 30: 16 x 16 Tiles Not Supported error, does not allow a selection.
    Mario All-Stars: Works, but severe graphical corruption.
    LoZ:ALTTP: Same as before, only sprites show, no BG tiles show at all.
    Family Feud: Guru Meditation Error. Will post later.
    Final Fantasy II: Guru Meditation Error. Will post later.
    Final Fantasy V: Shows glitchy title screen with what looks like scanlines. Will not accept user input.
