I'm able to get a second hand fat PSP, or I could get a more expensive slim, I plan to use custom firmware but I have a question about the load times. The slim is a little faster that the fat when loading from UMD, but is there much difference between the two when they are both loading from the memory stick?

I would think it would be completely dependent on the speed of the memstick

slim has twice as much ram as the phat, not sure why'd you bother with a phat anymore

I can get the fat much cheaper than the slim so I'm wondering if it's worth the saving.

The size doesn't bother me too much and although I would like TV out from time to time, the most important thing to me is loading times.

When running games off the memory stick does the extra ram make much difference? I've found comparison videos for fat + UMD vs slim + UMD, and MS vs UMD (I think on two fat PSPs), but no comparison for fat + MS vs slim + MS.

Phat's just as good as the slim. Also, Sandisk are said to be the fastest mem sticks for the PSP. I personally use a Sony 2gb mem stick with my PSP and load times are still decent (Sony is said to be one of the slowest I hear). Either way it's faster than the UMD drive.

Many schools use some form of firewall or protection, to prevent certain types of content from being viewable.

There was a time where we were able to bypass the school's network using a VPN that wasn't blocked on the radar. Can't exactly remember the name, but I was able to watch YouTube.
