Some more info to add to the OP if you want to add my brick: I got bricked because my EmuNAND had an unsigned SecureInfo_A file. That's why the screen won't turn on, because it doesn't if you're not running rxTools or any other CFW.

I bricked my O3DS when running the installer. I suspect it's the NAND restore I wasn't expecting (the recommended guide 3 weeks ago didn't mention it), but the dump should have been good, so I'll have to wait for my hard mod to be finished to know for sure.

@Bull Moose 2016 Bricked using wrong 2.1 downgrade files chose EUR n3ds files on a USA o3ds, when coping over emuNAND to sysNAND it bricked

Still a brick, and "bad luck" bricks are rare.
